The cheapest thing for us to do is to fly Allegiant to Vegas and then drive to Anaheim. My question is - I have Crohn's Disease and this can mean the need for a nearly immediate bathroom stop. Are there ample places to stop between Vegas and DL or is it just a bunch of desert?

There is not much there between Jean and Baker, then nadda until you hit Barstow. Your best bet is to fly.

Yeah, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but we do the drive from SoCal to Vegas frequently and like the other posters said, there really are some long spans with nothing.

lots of sage brush, tumble weeds and Joshua Trees;)

Just stop in Barstow its about the halfway mark. It should take about 4 hours to get there.. So Barstow would be the best (pretty much only place to stop).

Ditto to what everyone else said. DBF and I drove from Anaheim to Vegas once and the drive was pretty bad with not much in between except Barstow where they have the Tanger Premium Outlets. I definitely recommend flying instead. You won't regret it ;)

Just make sure you are not heading back to Vegas on Friday or heading into LA on Sunday. The traffic can be INSANE.

It's four hours of almost uninterrupted desert. It's not a drive that I'd want to make whilst having potty issues.

you could fly Allegiant to Las Vegas, then catch a cheap flight from Vegas to LAX. I think they offer pretty good deals. Maybe that would still save some money over flying directly to Disney from wherever you are starting!

Some rough travel times assuming no traffic:

Vegas to Jean: 20 minutes
Jean to Stateline: 10
Stateline to a nice new rest area: 20
Rest area to Baker: 15
Baker to Calico: 45
Calico to Barstow: 10
Barstow to Victorville: 20
From there on the only gap would be the Cajon Pass which is about 10 minutes or so between available stops...
