How's Spirit Airlines?

I've been checking web fares for my July trip and Spirit has a $138 ($155 total with fees) fare for my dates, early departure, late return from LGA to MCO. This is a great price, and I'd jump on it, but I'm so used to going with delta, and lately Song, that I'm hesitant to try Spirit.
My main concern is the size of the plane. I'm a nervous flyer, and if the plane turns out to be one of those small jobs, I'm sure it'll be a problem for me!
I've been looking for info online, checking out MD-80s, but can't find a picture or seat info.
Should I grab the $155 seats with Spirit, or hold out that Song will go down by my July 5th departure?

Any Spirit Airlines fans out there? Please help!

I would snap them up! We fly Spirit every trip to WDW. The planes are MD80s. They are the old FinnAir jets. 3 seats aisle 2 seats. Not that bad. We bought our tix for March on Christmas Eve for $198 and today they are $350!!!! If the fare goes down, they will issue you a voucher good for 1 year. That has already happened to us. We got 4 vouchers for $33 each.

Go to Spirit's website and on the top click on "About Spirit" and then click on aircraft. It shows a photo of their jet!! Also, they have an impeccable safety record!!

Haven't flown Spirit yet, but we have May reservations out of LGA and I'm a very happy customer so far. We had to chnage our dates. We purchased the tix on line in November. Was able to go on line and change the dates and all we had to pay was the $6 difference in fare per ticket. No change fees whatsoever. That was pretty nice.

As for planes, it isn't like they are flying regional jets or puddle jumpers. MD80's are good size planes so I wouldn't worry about that.

I always check out these "How about Spirit?" threads and I've heard nothing but good.
