How's my itinerary look?

I have changed this a thousand times and hopefully have finally got it figured out. Keep in mind that I am purposely avoiding EE on certain days due to the FTP and tons of resort guests it's bringing in. Also, I know that once the October hours are posted I might have to change a few things. But I would love some of your opinions, this will only be my 2nd time going so I'm no expert but I spend so much time on these boards that I don't feel totally lost. I've tried to condense this as much as possible and each day we will return to our resort for awhile in the afternoon. It will be myself, dd7, dd8 and my mom.

Fri. 10/17 - arrive at MCO at 10:41 - get rental and drive to
Cocoa Beach - hoping to arrive at Poly by 7:00
Sat.10/18 - Epcot and MK for Spectro (dinner @ Chef Mickeys)
Sun.10/19 - EE MK (hoping for CRT) & MNSSHP
Mon.10/20 - resort day & maybe DTD (bfst @ Kona - dinner @
'Ohana)
Tues.10/21 - MGM (then we are changing resorts to CBR) Epcot
(dinner @ Garden Grill) for Illuminations
Wed.10/22 - Seaworld
Thurs.10/23 - AK (dinner @Boma) and then to MGM for Fantasmic
Fri. 10/24 - MK and we are leaving the afternoon and evening
open for whatever we want to do again.
Sat. 10/25 - Breakfast @ Chef Mickey's and DTD leaving @ 5:15

Looks good.

If I were going to change anything, here's what Id do......

since you are going to fantasmic and not eating in the AK. I'd skip Boma's and get the Fantasmic dinner package at Mama Melrose (if youre hankering for a buffet then do Hollywood and vine). That way you dont have to hang out in the staduim before the show all that long.

iI'd skip dinner at the Graden Grille and either opt for the Coral Reef, or snag a table next to Rose and Crown, send DH for counterservice and eat while you wait for Illuminations.

I cancel one of the chef Mickey's trips. Either keep the breakfast and have the dinner at the Liberty Tree Tavern in the MK, its one of our favorites; or keep the dinner and have breakfast over at the Whispering canyone at the WL.

We are going also in October, but will arrive on the 24th. Our itinerary is almost the same, except that because of our DD, we decided not to plan on an early morning after Sat nights Spectro. I am sure your kids are different but my DD is not used to being out late nights, so we planned to sleep in on Sun.

Your itinerary made me smile . . . it looks very similar to mine!!:D We're arriving the 16th and leaving on the 26th.

I've been worried about Oct. 18th; I've got us at Epcot that day, too, but I'm concerned about crowds since it's the opening day of the Food & Wine Festival. (We're hopping back to MK that night for Spectro, also.) We're also doing MNSSHP on the 19th.

I can't seem to figure out a better plan for us, though, so right now, I'm leaving it as is.

The only thing that sticks out to me as a possible concern is that you are switching resorts mid-trip. That in itself isn't a problem, as lots of people do. But you are going from a delux to a moderate. After staying at the Poly, moving to the CBR might be a let down for you.

I also think you might want to change one of your Chef Mickey PS's. Of course this is just a personal preference. I would take the dinner PS and move it to another character meal, like dinner at 1900 Park Fare which is at the GF and would keep you on the monorail resorts for your spectro show.

See this is exactly why I needed someone else's opinion. Thanks to everyone for your input!! The reason for the resort switch is that we just couldn't swing the Poly for the whole time and my mother has a friend coming and the friend was not willing to pay for the Poly so we decided to stay there until the friend comes. I think it will be okay though, I tried to schedule things so they were close to where we are staying and I think we'll be pretty busy trying to squeeze everything in.

I thought about changing one of my Chef Mickey's but we just love it there but I might consider changing the dinner to 1900 Park Faire since we'll be at the Poly, it would be just as close!

My dd's love Garden Grill. They were 3 and 4 when we were last there and that one of the things they talk about all the time. I had thought about Coral Reef but I've not read very many good reviews.

I'd like to do the Fantasmic dinner but I also really want to eat at Boma and we will not have our own car during that time and I thought it would be easier to go from AKL to a park rather than try to go from resort to resort. Maybe if we got back from Seaworld early enough we could go to Boma that night but I really wanted to "Dine with Shamu". Oh, decisions, decisions! I wish we had 10 days instead of 8, it's way too hard to try to squeeze everything in.

What does MNSSHP stand for? Excuse the newcomer's ignorance.

Also, how far in advance did all the dates and times for parades and fireworks come out?

I'd appreciate the information while you're in the midst of your planning.

thanks.

Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party !!

Park hours & parade schedules have been coming out about eight weeks prior. I think the September hours were just released in the last 10 days or so.

Here's a link for MNSSHP info, in case you're interested:

Donna in Oz,

I just posted a thread on this because I did a search and did not find an adequate answer nor discussion of this question.

I know that the official schedule for such events comes out about 3 months (I thought it was 4 months) in advance. I just can't figure out how people plan and make PS reservations without some sense of the parades and fireworks -- at least for a few nights of their trips.

Please see my thread on this topic under this topic of discussion (strategies, etc)

Looks perfect. Make sure you get back to the Poly to rest before MNSSHP. Also, AK all day, then boma, then fantasmic looks like too much to me. I would play it by ear. If you are too tired after Boma (AKL is so wonderful, so don't cancel this PS), just take a cab back to the Poly and do Fantasmic on Friday night. Everything else looks wonderful. We love the Garden Grill, too. Good luck on getting Cindy's!!! Try to get a later PS (like 10:30). Any earlier and you miss on on your precious EE time.

Looks like we will be there at the same time. Our Oct 19th plans are the same as yours. Have fun.
