A few months back there were several posts about people who thought they had the first time cruiser credit (code REF, $50 credit for 7 day and $25 for 3/4 day cruises) applied to their reservation but it wasn't provided once they were onboard.

I'm cruising in 3 weeks (yahoo!!) and have been told by DU the $25 credit has been applied to my reservation.

Has anyone received or not received this recently? Is there anything that I can take with me to show that I should have this credit? I've printed off the e-mail from DU where they state that it has been applied.

I got it no problem at all on the 11/23 Western. It was posted on my account just as it should have been. Don't sweat it.

12/14 cruise: Our 5 cabins rec'd a note under cabin door early in the week that $50 per cabin had been applied. We also had rec'd confirmation from TA had there been any question.

Does anyone know if this credit is available to DVC members who have booked using points? Or can the first-timer discount only be received through DCL or a TA? Thanks!

Jen

I was unable to get the first-timer credit because we got a Florida Resident rate. I think you can't combine the first-timer credit with other special promotions. You should be able to get the credit no matter who you book it with (TA or DCL). I believe the code is REF. I don't know if you can use the code if you booked with your DVC points, but I don't see why not.

We were told that since we booked with DVC points, we were not eligible for the first time cruiser credit. It was explained to me that DVC negotiates a points price with DCL, and no other discounts can be added on. I did try calling a couple times, on different days, talking to different CM's, but got the same answer every time. I have read that some people have gotten the credit, but we sure haven't had any luck!
