Okay, we were looking at going to WDW in Dec 08 but now considering Sept. How is it? Is the weather awlful? How about the crowds? We're hoping they may offer free dining again, but not planning on it. Any advice would be great! Thanks!

I love going in September. It's nice and hot and practically empty. We have gone during free dining and would do it again any year.

The last 2 times we've been we've gone in September. The first time it was far less crowded than the 2nd time and both trips were almost at the same time 4 yrs apart. Granted the first time they didn't have the DDP or the free dining so I'm sure that has something to do with the slight crowd increase. Although I like going in September, I would really like to go in October. The weather is slightly cooler but still extremely pleasant and the Food & Wine festival is going on over at Epcot (so I've been told by a good friend).

I loved September!!! (December is nice, also) But if I had to choose, it would be september.

We've gone in September not so bad with the crowds. I think I remember the problem - the dreaded love bugs!  I think they were out then. If you don't mind them then the crowds aren't bad at all.

We were there over Labor Day and the crowds were blessedly small. Never waited more than 20min for anything but Soarin', it was great!!! Very hot, intermittent rain, but I'd take all that over crowds!! No love bugs then. We just got back and the weather was great, no humidity, but it was more crowded so I'd take the Sept scenario anyday!!!!
Have fun.

THat is so nice to hear! We are planning to go Aug 30 (Labor Day Wkend). Was worried about crowds too.

When I was a kid we always went in the summer because of school (it was sooo hot) but for our honeymoon we went in December and I would do it again in a heartbeat! Funny thing is when we were there, they had record low temps and had huge cardboard boxes outside of almost every store filled with gloves, scarves and hats because people like us from the North weren't expecting Florida to be like that! It was freezing for half our trip but it was still so nice...no crowds at all, beautiful decorations, and no sweltering heat! Had frozen fingers, toes and noses but we just weren't prepared!:)

good to hear! we are plannign a trip this year for Septmeber 15-25. I know it will be hot, but surely it won't be as bad as last year when we went the week before the 4th of July! :rotfl2: plus Mickeys not so scarey halloween party sounds like fun, and I have heard it is less crowded in September

can't wait!
