Even though we have visited the Magic Kingdom more times that I can count, we have never eaten here. Our 12 year old son is a bit picky and doesn't like any sauces or gravy. He likes to stick to pretty basic fare of burgers, chicken strips and pizza. My husband and I don't mind trying something new.

How's the food at Columbia Harbour House?

Opinions and pics would be grreatly appreciated!

CHH is a must! of course you are talking to its #1 fan :lmao: the food there is great...i usually get the chicken nuggets because they are just so good...but there are options for all kinds of eaters...even picky ones ;)

After 6 trips to MK we finally stopped and ate here in October and it was fabulous...the food was great, especially the clam chowder and we sat upstairs with a beautiful view...it was so peaceful we were the only family up there...I say try it...I don't think you will be disappointed, it is now on our must do list when we go back in May:thumbsup2

I ate there once to try the tuna sandwich and it was very good except they put sweet pickle relish in it and I do not like that at all. The grain bread was awesome and the tomato slice was actually a nice red thick slice and was so great! I cannot wait to go back there and try the hummus sandwich or the chicken BLT salad

This has always been our favorite CS in MK. They children are happy with chicken nuggets and the kids fare while we like the sandwhiches and chicken nuggets too. If El Peryito (sp?) isn't open we always go here. :)

Columbia Harbour House is our families favorite CS restaurant at the MK. We will be eating there again next month. The chicken/fish combo is good, and I really love the Anchors Aweigh sandwich. Also, the clam chowder is quite good, but I am disappointed that they did away with the bread bowls as I love soup in a bread bowl!

It's one of my favorite not-to-miss counter service restaurants when in Disney. GREAT Clam Chowder, love the fried fish and the sandwiches are good as well.

It is our favorite counter service at MK!! We are "basic" eaters here - we usually go for the chicken, but it is good. We always sit upstairs as well. There are usually less people, and it is a great way to calm down and eat a quiet, yet fast meal. :lovestruc

It's our favorite CS in MK too! Actually, probably all of WDW!
Last time we were there we had:
Tuna Sandwich: yummy with nice grain bread
Clam Chowder: very good, thick and creamy
Fish & Chips: Not too greasy, yummy
Veggie sandwich: I think it's called the Lighthouse or something. Hummus with Broccoli slaw. This was to die for! I came home with a newfound appreciation of broccoli slaw and immediately had to buy some for home!

It's the Lighthouse Sandwich and it's absolutely amazing!!! We were just at MK last week and did not realize Columbia Harbour House would be closing early to get ready for MVMCP. We'd been planning on having dinner there that night and were really disappointed that they closed 5 minutes before we walked up (and that we hadn't noticed the earlier closing time on the sheet). Guess we'll just have to go back again soon... I was really looking forward to another Lighthouse Sandwich.... :rolleyes1

We love the salads at CHH; however, I just checked allears and it looks like they no longer have my favorite salad - the Garden Galley Salad (mixed greens with chicken, pecans, pineapple and feta cheese). Anybody know if that's true?

Another CHH lover here. We stumbled upon it almost by luck and were so glad we did. We also tend to stick with the usual fish-n-chips or chicken strips. But I am anxious to try the Lighthouse sandwich, now! :-)

We also sit upstairs. I have some great pics of my kids dancing among the many empty tables, and peeking through the railings while "spying" on guests below. It was like our own secret spot - very quiet and relaxing. (I really should learn how to post pics!)

Enjoy CHH - just don't go telling everyone else. It's such a wonderful little secret! :-)

I atr there for the first time last year after constant badgering here on the Dis. Everyone recommended it. Thanks, all. It was great. And the tip to go upstairs was great. Downstairs was completely packed and my buddies kept saying we needed to find a table and I said don't worry about it. We got our food and I said up the stairs, where we found 3 occupied tables and 20 empty ones. We'll be eating there on the KTTK tour in 23 days.

I just wish there were chicken nuggets or fish strips on the kids' menu. We'll have to skip it in January cuz the only two kid options are salad with chicken and the nasty mac and cheese ... makes no sense you can't get nuggets here. :sad1:

But it has been a favorite in the past!

I ate here last January because everyone on the DIS raves about it, but I really did not care for it. I found the menu very limited, especially if you are trying to avoid fried food. I finally decided on the soup and sandwich combo, which was alright, but nothing memorable. Also, when we went it was extremely crowded and took me over an hour to wait in line and get my order. That was at 11:30. I'm going back again this year, but not by choice. I'm taking the KTTK tour and that's where they go. If you like fried food then you'd probably enjoy it.

Another vote here as our favorite CS in MK! We never miss CHH, love the fried fish plate and the Apple Crisp for dessert. Also, as others have said, we always sit in the room upstairs between Fantasyland and Liberty Square.
