Howmany people have left here due to attitudes?

Just wondering, cause sometimes people are kind of mean on these boards.

I've been here since 1998 and seen lots of people come and go. I don't know why people take stuff so personally. I've never had a problem with separating my real life and cyber life.

yeah. What do you mean? If you mean left they probably won't respond to your post cause they are gone but for the most part if you talk Disney that doesn't get to ugly.

What I mean is, has anyone left because they felt they were picked on or not taken as seriously as others?

I did some searches and found (by accident) that some posters could have been nicer to people.

Nothing too big, just little stuff. I don't take anything personally here, but thought some might.

I have left for a bit but never over anything directed towards me personally. I just didn't like the whole atmosphere at the time. Sometimes you just need to take a breather and deal with the real world and then when you come back it's fun again.

There have been some who have left because something got a little too hot and heavy for them. Usually they'll make a last post saying that it's time for them to go. Sometimes they come back, sometimes they don't.

Fortunately, I usually get lucky and don't get involved in the "mean" threads.:D

I guess if you've left then you wouldn't be reading this post!!!:p :p :p

oops...I hope that wasn't the attitude you were talking about:duck:

Sometimes I feel that the board takes on a whole different tone, not for the better, so I stop posting for a while. I always come back though. I think you learn *personalities* after a while and can know what is coming. :)

It works both ways. Some people can bit a bit rude and mean while others are overly sensitive.

Some people don't like the topics. IMO. big deal.

One word of advice concerning that... DON'T OPEN A THREAD OR STOP READING ONE WHEN YOU SEE THINGS YOU DON'T WANT TO READ ABOUT!

Sorry for shouting. I feel better now.

And even though this is a cyberworld, and as much as some would like it to be, it's not PD and hugs 24/7.

Jenn Lynn, the newest pic of Avery is so cute! :) From the pics I have seen of you, she is the spitting image of you, no?

Thanks Judi! Yes, she definitely has my eyes and (poor girl) my eyebrows. ;) The cheeks and dimples are all DH and MIL though. :)

She looks so cute and girlie, Jenn. Everytime I see a pic of a girly girl like that I have pangs of wanting another child, this one maybe a girl. Then of course I come to my senses and look forward to my future granddaughter. :)

In response to the original question, I'll answer it best that I can.

Yes, people have come and gone over the years, for as long as I have been here. Lots of people have walked away without saying a word, others have left with a grand exit. There have always been certain posters who have been antagonistic, some of them still here, some gone as well. I think for those of us who have been here a long time, it becomes one of those things where you weigh the pros and cons and decide what is best. Unlike real life, all one has to do if they don't like it here is just push the switch and thats the end of this world. Goodbye is as easy as that, just pressing cntrl alt delete. But most of us have made good friends here, enjoy the chit chat here, and we learn to live with those we might not necessarily see eye to eye with, because the pros of being here outweigh the cons of not.

Snoopy - I had two boys and then a girl. She has an entire wardrobe that I usually give away with the price tags still on. She lives in her brothers old big baggy basketball shorts and their oldest, holiest, t-shirts they no longer want. She actually wears a college sweatshirt that my DH wore over 20 years ago. I've even emailed her teacher to let them know that I do not force her to dress like a rag picker. She also never brushes her hair and I'm afraid she will get dreadlocks one day.

Avery is adorable, I think she has wonderful eyebrows.

Thanks!

(You just can't see that the 2 are becoming 1. ;) )

LOL Kallison! I'm quite sure if I were to have a girl, she'd be a tomboy too. It would be hard for her not to, with two big brothers.
