The wind sure is howing tonight and nerve wracking.

Another 24 hours of high winds forecasted thru tomorrow.

Anyone else in the Midwest tired of this storm already?

Yes we had some crazy weather today in the Chicagoland area too! On and off rain and high winds, but I don't think it was as bad as they were predicting it to be:confused3

We were supposed to get SOME KINDA STORM today! I was a little worried for a while, as the wind picked up a bit and it poured rain, but then it stopped and the sun came out! :cool2:

We're supposed to get it TOMORROW now...

We'll see. :rotfl:

Here in SE mn tonight, the winds have gotten up in the 55 mph range and seem to be intensifying.

We have had the same. I am afraid to look at my roof tomorrow-there are a lot of strange noises, bangs, thuds on the roof so who knows WHAT is happening up there.

I just looked on the National Weather Service site to see if there were any storm reports for ND yet and the top of the page has a line about the current storm and the line under that is "North Dakota observes Severe Weather Awareness Week". Well, I guess they brought in a real life demonstration for that :lmao:

Such weird nationwide weather, we're under a tornato watch and expecting lots of rain and high winds all night :guilty:. Everyone batten down the hatches and be careful.

Over 90 degrees here today and our air conditioner broke last night. :sad2: Could go for that howling wind and low MN temps! :thumbsup2

Our dog hates windy weather, so I've had to deal with a 55 pound lap dog today. Ordinarily he knows he's not supposed to get up on the sofa and so he lays at my feet, but today it was so bad that he wouldn't listen when I told him to get down. Poor baby -- I think I might ask the vet if she can prescribe something like doggy Valium for bad weather!

We were expecting something that would resemble the apocalypse but I was downtown and it was nothing. It got very dark and was a little windy but the weatherman was way off, at least for up by the lake.

That's what I thought too!

YES! so far this storm caused damage to a friends garage, blown away 4 of my flower pots and had us worried all day about a tree falling on us at work. Mabye they will finally cut down the dead trees!

We are in Roch also!! The wind has been horrible today. Neighbors lost their garbage cans set out for collection. Our BBQ grill was blown over on our deck and smashed a table. When dh got home from work, he brought everything inside.

We had the awful wind storm 2 nights ago complete with roof tiles, fence and trees blowing over and the howling. Then tonight it's done nothing but snow at my house and while I know Christmas is coming it is still October and not even Halloween yet. I had over $2000 damage to my roof, fence and trees 48 hours ago.:sad1:

My DH drove from Cleveland area to Terre Haute, In. today. He called from a McDonalds where many people were hunkered down waiting for the tornado warnings to cancel. He made it there just fine but a couple hours later it blew through our area. It was diminished quite a bit from what you all are getting but for 10 min. or so it was really blustery out there.

There were 80 MPH wind gusts reported in Indiana and Ohio so I would say it was more than a little nothing.

It was garbage day here yesterday and I kept an eye out for the truck to come so I could pull in our cans asap. I am afraid to go out when it gets light. From the way our house was shaking and all the thuds that kept me up most of the night, it will be a wonder if we have any shingles or siding left :lmao:

Here we had a tornado warning in the mid-morning (radar detected three possible funnel clouds) with lots of wind and rain.

I also heard on the radio this morning that yesterday in Michigan we set the US record for the lowest land-based barometric pressure reading.

MN had a barometric low pressure reading consistent with a Cat 3 hurricane. CRAZY weather.

I had to suck it up and turn on the furnace this morning. I can't get the pilot light on our fire place to light otherwise I would have just turned that on because that heats up the house well on chilly mornings. Dang.

Well, it is finally light enough out to see outside-don't see any damage on the neighbors' houses but I am still in my jammies and haven't checked things out carefully. What I DID notice was this WHITE stuff flying around :scared1:.

Seriously snow???? I am so not ready for that yet! Still pretty windy here in Chicagoland but no rain and it's much colder today:sad2:
