Ok, so I probably sound like a total doof right now, but my boyfriend and I are trying to figure this out.
When we were little, we both remember people bringing in ice cream cone/cupcakes to class for birthdays. But, we can't figure out how it's done...The cupcake isn't in the entire cupcake, it's only in the top....And the cupcake isn't just shoved into the cone, it's sort of stuck to it and fits perfectly....I'm sure its something simple, but we can't figure it out....
Thanks! (I promised him an answer through the DIS by 11....don't let me down!!! lol)

i did a search you pour the cake batter 2/3 way up the cone and bake them in the oven

Thanks for the replies, we were just remembering incorrectly! We both could have sworn that the cupcakes rested in the top parts of the cone...ah well!

I used to make this all the time when my teens were younger! :)

My daughters love that type of cupcake! My mother used to make them when I was little and now I make them for my girls. You can stand the cones up in muffin tins while they bake to make it a bit easier.

I just made green ones last night for my DS 5th grade class today. I made them over the summer and sent them to work with DH he said the guys loved them. I guess your never too old for icecream cone cupcakes.

I've only made the kind that you fill 2/3 up the cone. However, I'm pretty sure that the other way to make them is to put the batter in a cupcake pan and then rest the cone upside down on top of the batter. When it rises it fills the top part of the cone.

Whenever I'm making cupcakes to take into DD's school I do these. The teachers really appreciate not having to deal with the mess that cakes and even regular cupcakes make. I find that putting a piece of crumbled foil around the bottom of the cone helps steady them in the oven. If you want to be really creative try piping on the frosting to make it look like ice cream.

I LOVE these! They are so yummy!

I always use cherry chip cake mix and white frosting. Then use multi-colored sprinkles and a sour cherry on top. I could go for one right now! I don't use nearly as much frosting as in that link, just frost it like a normal cupcake.

I've never heard of these, they sound so fun and yummy! I'll have to try them. :D

I've never heard of them either. I think I will make them for my daughter's bday party, they look so yummy.
