Howard Johnson room requests

Hi! I am new to this board- so I apologize if I am posting in the wrong place! I looked through the threads- but didn't see one about this.

We are planning our first trip to Disneyland for the 60th anniversary festivities! We have decided that we would like to stay at the Howard Johnson because of the close proximity, great price and awesome pool! My travel agent asked me what room requests I have. I said we would like a full balcony and bunk beds if possible. But she asked about where in the resort we would like to be? I have been searching trying to figure it out. Is there one part or area of the hotel that is better... quieter....better theme park view... closer to the parks? I appreciate any input! Thanks in advance for your help! Bunk bed rooms are very limited in quantity. I have stayed in the kids suites. There are 14 such rooms, all located in building one on the freeway side. Kids suites are two connected rooms with two bathrooms. One side has a king bed and the other side has bunk bed and a small pull-out sofa. I believe you can also request a roll-away for that side. There is another type of bunk bed room that we haven't tried. It is a regular size room with one bathroom. There is a queen bed and a bunk bed. These are also in building 1, highway side I believe. I don't know how many of these rooms there are. Building 1 is Hojo's largest building, 7 stories, closest to the lobby and water play area. I have no idea if the bunk bed rooms are available through travel agent bookings.

Also in building one are standard and premium rooms. The main difference between these room types is which side of the building they are on. They both have two queen beds and the standard amenities. The only thing I'm not sure about is whether the standard rooms have microwaves in them. They still may not. The standard rooms face the highway. The premium rooms face the park and many afford decent park views. There are large trees that impede the sight lines from some of the rooms. There are balconies.

Building two has the deluxe rooms. These have two queen beds, flat screen tv, microwave, mini frig, safe. No park views. This is probably the quietest building. The rooms face out over the main pool. Building 2 is four stories.

The other room type is the two double beds standard room. I have never stayed in one of these. I know they have been recently upgraded, so they are probably freshened up inside with improved amenities. These are located in buildings 3-6 which are two-story buildings in the center of the property. I don't think these buildings have elevators. Also no views of the park. Some of these rooms overlook the water play area.

Good hotel choice I LOVE the Howard Johnson and have always had an amazing experience with them. Make sure if you're celebrating anything to let them know! I took my nephew for the first time and told them it was his first trip. When we arrived at the room, they had left him a toy, a lithograph for Cars Land and a card welcoming us

I always stay at HoJo and I much prefer Building 1 over the other areas.

Thanks to everyone for their tips!! I looked at that map and then went and watched the videos explaning the rooms again (your explanations really helped!) and I think we are going to look into paying the upgrade to a "superior" room (or "deluxe" on the video). It says that all of those rooms face the theme park, have a balcony and are in building one- yay! According to the website- it's really not that much more- and just knowing that we will ahve a great room waiting for us makes us super happy! I just e-mailed my TA! Although- the videos said I may have to call and pay for the upgrade separate- either way- it will be taken care of! Thanks for the input, it really helped! I hope everyone has a magical day!!
