I am planning on going back in Janaury for my birthday again next year.
I would like to book 1 week at a AKV & 1 week at BWI(for my birthday).

My 11 month window is tomorrow, could I book 1 week at AKV now and then book 1 week at BWI in 7 months?

or should I book the whole two weeks at AKV, if so would it be best booking daily for the 2nd week?

I am happy to book ether a studio or 1 bed at BWI to give me more options.

If your home resort is AKV then yes you can do this

we have done this too but our wait list never can through for the second resort .you can only try to change to a different resort at the 7 month window, I've always done the day to day booking

This will give you more of a chance at BWI

Good luck with whatever way you go :wizard::wizard::wizard::wizard:
let us know how you get on

this is the only downside to DVC is trying to figure were to stay :rotfl2:

Personally, I would book accommodation for the whole of your stay at your home resort as soon as you are able to. Then, I would try to switch whichever dates you want at the 7-month point.

That way, you at least have something booked in case you can't get what you want at the 7-month mark.

I didn't think you could stay at BWI with DVC points? Do you mean BWV? BWV is a fantastic place to stay :)

I agree with Joh, safer to book the whole stay at your home resort at 11 months and switch the bit you want at 7 months.

I assumed you meant BWV otherwise Karen is right, you cannot use DVC points for the 'Inn' side, only the villas.

Yes, this is what I would do, too. However, one thing to watch is if you need to borrow points for the initial 'safety net' booking, but will need fewer points for the final reservation. Any borrowed points can't be returned to their original UY if you don't need them.

Sorry if this is stating the obvious!

Yes, good point Hilary. If there is any chance you will be using less points overall with the amended booking nad have had to borrow points, ask to use the borrowed points first as you can always bank current UY points.

Thanks, that could happen as I booking a 1 bed at AKV and I may change to a studio at BWV if they have it as a BW view which is number 1 on my list.

As numerous PPs have said, I'd definately book for the whole stay then do the "DVC shuffle" at the 7 month window and move the reservation over from one resort to another.

I did this for my upcoming AKV stay. I booked SSR at the eleven month window then phoned and booked AKV a day at a time until I got what I wanted.

Thought, why don't you book your 11 month as split rooms so as to avoid too much borrowing?

What I mean is book the week at AKV as a 1 ed as you wanted, then book another week as a studio for the week you intend to transfer to BWI.

It does mean that if for some reason you can't get BWI you'd be in a studio for half the stay, but it does avoid some of the borrowing woes. Might work as a nice compromise.
