How would you split Epcot into 2 days?

6 adults, 4 preschoolers going in early May 2018. Staying at Poly.

At first I thought we would do WS one day and FW the other. But now after reading advice on another thread, I am considering doing half of FW and WS on one day and the other halves on another. That would give the kids rides both days rather than just countries all on one day. Plus we can take advantage of the F&G food kiosks over two days.

We can't plan to rope drop on one of the days since we will be late at the P&P cruise the night before. But we can RD the other day.

Rope Drop Day - Go to Test Track first and do other attractions in FW east. Then FP FEA around 11:00 if possible. Lunch at kiosks and see countries through Italy. Finish with FP at Spaceship Earth on way out. Plan any other FP?

Non-Rope Drop Day - FP Soarin at 10:30, Seas at 11:30 and Turtle Talk at 12:30 then head to WS on the west side.

Advice is greatly appreciated!

We like to split it the way that you just mentioned: FW/WS. This way, as you said, there are rides involved on both days. I think that your plan looks fine as is, but I would find a way to get the Figment attraction in.

I would split WS into 2 separate days unless your kids are interested in meet and greets which can take up a good deal of time waiting in lines for them all.

We will definitely fill in our days with other attractions such as Figment. Sadly I don't think our grandkids know who Figment is so we have some homework to do in the next year!

This is exactly what we're doing:

Spending the morning at FW: One day Rope Drop Soarin' and FP FEA later in the day. No other fast passes really needed. Spend the morning on that half of FW then head to WS when we're done and hit 2/3 of the countries, watch fireworks, head back to the hotel.

Second morning, sleep in a bit, head to Test Track for a 10:30 or so FP then spend the rest of the morning on that half of FW.
Then in the afternoon we are going to the rest of the countries and leave around 7. We are heading home from there. Driving about 2 hours or so North to a hotel then the rest of the drive the next day.

I'm not planning our afternoons at all. Just going to eat when we're hungry, snack when it looks good. And stand in line for characters as needed.
We missed a lot of characters and shows last time so this time we really want to soak it all in.

Sounds like a great plan to me! With F&W or F&G festivals I have to be there at least twice. Our kids have never really gotten bored with WS, but we keep it fresh with Kidcot stops, riding 3C at Mexico. Plus they like food! I would certainly max out the 3 FPs on your Rope drop day. If you have FEA for the top tier, you could lock in SE in the afternoon on your way out (my experience on recent trips is that SE does get a bit of a long wait for brief periods from mid morning through late afternoon. Could you do rider swap for MS as a 3rd option?

I think likely only 2 of the 6 adults will want to do MS but there really isn't any other FP option on the east side so I might as well reserve. Some could use others' MB to go twice.

Totally a good idea. Plus doesn't MS have a pretty cool play area inside by the gift shop where the riders come out? That would be a good place for them to play while those who want to ride can.

Ok it looks like the consensus is to split east and west -thanks for advice. Lat night I "planned" two days - one each at WS and FW so I can toss that now. I guess it's good (not good?) that I'm an early-bird planner!

If you're walking hallway around - you're walking all the way around anyway since you have to get back to the front so East/West saves you no time (unless you take the boat which unless timed perfectly saves maybe 10 minutes).

What you want to do is look at the various entertainment schedules at the countries each day (since not all acts are shown every day), what characters you want to meet, etc. and split up the countries that way since a number of acts will be good for younger kids. You're basically doing a lap each day around the world (which also gives you more chance to hit some more food booths).

We are taking it as a Right side and Left side. 1 day we will do everything on the left side: Soarin, Nemo, JIA, SSE and then the countries starting from Canada to US. The next visit, right side: TT, MS, FEA, and start from Mexico heading going to US.

I am already planning for June of next year (with the kids getting older, school and other activities are making it harder to go as often as we like) and this is exactly what we are going to do. Splitting the park in half gives you the best of both worlds on each day. When my girls were younger, the Kidcot fun stops were a life save while enjoying the world showcase!

I have never taken a boat at Epcot. Where is it?

We did two Epcot days back in November. First day was Joy & Sadness M&G, Spaceship Earth, Mission Space, Soarin' and Test Track. Then, we went to the 1/2 of the World Showcase from Mexico to the USA (Three Cabelleros & FEA), and when we left, we did the Disney Visa character meet & greet, followed by Figment.

Second day was Spaceship Earth, Figment, Pixar Short Film Festival, Living with the Land, Soarin', and Finding Nemo. Then, we went to the other half of World Showcase.

The boats have two landings at the Showcase Plaza. One boat runs to Morocco, and the other to Germany. The one to Germany wasn't running for some reason when we were there last November. It does save a lot of walking.
