I posted this here instead of WISH because I am hoping to get a bunch of answers. I am creating a list of rewards for me as I hit my 5# milestones in wt loss. I have a long way to go, and I know that just loosing the wt will be wonderful, but I want to reward myself in different ways. here are some of my ideas, but I need a few more, I have over 100# to loose, so I would love any and all ideas, ones that I spend $ on, and some that are "free". THANKS!

5# buy My Big Fat Greek Wedding dvd
10# buy passporter
15 ?
20 I have in mind to buy a book

100# a trip to a spa for a massage!

I had my hair highlighted when I reached my first 5 pound goal. Beyond that, I haven't done anything. At 25 pounds, which will probably be my goal, I am going to get a new swim suit for the summer, hopefully a tankini.

First of all congratulations on your efforts and good luck.

How about a nice journal and pen so you can keep track of your progress. I was watching Oprah the other day and it was a show where people lost a lot of weight. One of the ladies kept a journal and it was almost like a scapbooking journal, it looked really cool.

If you like Yankee Candles, when you reach 50# you could go on a $50 shopping spree...that would be a great incentive for me!

Best of luck.

I started one of those Italian charm bracelets and for every 10 lbs I get a new charm!
This has been a necessity as well as a treat....but new clothes are a great reward!
How about a manicure?
Or a dance lesson?
Or any kind of lesson for something you have always wanted to do?
A looong phone call to a long distance friend?
Are you crafty? How about that special something for your craft or hobby that has been a "splurge item" and hard to rationalize?
Take a long hike...and enjoy being able to MOVE again!
Something special that "haunts you" from your last Disney trip and you kick yourself for not buying? BUY IT!
Do you drink coffee? Treat yourself to a super nice specialty coffee...or take a friend out for coffee!!
My treat when I reach my goal? A weekend away and a super nice bottle of champagne!!!

Good luck!!!! You can do it!!!!

I like to reward myself with a new work-out outfit, or shoes. Keeps me focused, and I also get the feeling of fitting into something smaller without buying a whole new wardrobe. It also doesn't seem too bad when you have to get rid of it because you need a smaller size!:Pinkbounc

I've just started my health regiment today. I'm starting slow. Today I did Yoga. I like yoga, and used to practice it quite a bit. Since I've stopped and re-started, I've noticed it is not as easy or fun as it used to be. I find I have body in places where there used to be just air! LOL

Good luck!

Tracy

A pair of sexy shoes.

Jewelry, always jewelry. :p You can buy inexpensive pieces of silver or silver and gemstones for small goals and gold pieces for large goals. :) QVC has the best silver in the world! It hardly ever tarnishes. :) Don't buy cheap silver. :)

A Bath and Body works collection - lotion, shampoo, body gel; the whole line. :)

A sexy bra and panty set or sexy nightie. :p ;)

Do you have a hobbie? Something for your hobby that you would never buy yourself? I love to garden. I saw a bronze fountain that I would love to have of a little girl holding an umbrella. The water spills over the umbrella. :)

New makeup from foundation to lipstick.

Expensive perfume that you love but never buy.

:)

Thanks for the helpful ideas! I like a lot of them, and I will have to make up a fun schedule for me!

And Jody, NO, I didn't forget, and I am really looking forward to it as well!!!!!

How about more time on the DIS?

I like Bath and body Works stuff for a nice long bath.

How about a Disney Journal to write in and every X punds something @ Disney

I NEED TO START ON MY HEALTH REGIMANT AGAIN!

I'm doing about the same thing. Need to lose about 100 pounds, but have lost about 17 to start. My husband just lost 65 pounds (since June) and he is looking great. I started in Nov. We have a treadmill that wasn't getting any use, so we started using it. I walk 3 mph for 30 minutes every day - early in the day if possible, if not, right after work before dinner. My husband used to do it every day, now down to about three times a week.

We have changed the way we eat. We eat at home a lot more. More salads - real salad - fresh spinach, red leaf lettuce (not so much iceberg) with tomatoes, other things to make it better. We have found some good salad dressings in the produce section - T. Marzetti's Two Lightful Bleu Cheese (husband's favorite) and Peppercorn Ranch (mine). Also Marie's Raspberry Vingarette.

We eat a lot more fruit - oranges, grapefruit, bananas, apples.

We drink a lot less soda, except husband likes Diet soda (from a bottle usually) and he really like Diet Mug Rootbeer. I drink lots of water since I don't like diet soda (except Diet Vanilla Coke in a bottle). I also drink unsweetened Kool Aid with Splenda.

We both eat breakfast every morning (bagels or English Muffins or waffles, plus OJ). We brown bag our lunch, usually a sandwich and fruit, plus water or diet soda. Then we eat a healthy dinner at home. We eat popcorn for snacks - we like Kettle Corn.

I've been rewarding myself by just getting to special points - like to an even 10 mark (200, 210, 220) or to a number I haven't seen in a while. Then I do a happy dance. Thought about getting a shampoo as well as a trim when I get my hair cut. Maybe a pedicure. It's fun putting on those clothes that were tight and now they bag and sag. Later on in the Spring, I will have to pop for new clothes - a little at a time. Before we head to WDW, I'll probably have to get a new bathing suit and shorts.

It hasn't been hard since we both are doing it and my husband is very supportive. The weight just seemed to drop off of him without any problem, but it has been slower for me. But I'm not dieting - I'm trying to eat more sensibly, so I don't deny myself stuff. I don't have cravings.

Saturday mornings before our son gets up have been a lot more fun, too!!;)

I know I have a lot more energy and just feel better.

Disnee Dad Says.......................................I have never had to lose 100 pounds, and to do it safely and permanent will probably take close to 2 years. I would move the spa goal thing to 50 pounds, a very nice treat to let you know you are half way there.
I always had trouble gaining weight and finally got to my right weight when I got married in 1988. But bad habits had set in and by 1998 I was 30 pounds over.
I never set goals or rewards. It took about a year to drop 30, but my diet only had one rule! <50 grams of fat a day. If I went over I made it up the next day. You'd be surprized how much you can splurge if you plan. Cereal with 1% milk, skim tastes ilke water, and an apple is under 10 grams. Maybe a Healthy Choice dinner and some fruit for under 15 grams. That means lunch is a Big Mac at 25 grams, and I'm still under! Throw in subway and it gets even easier.
Also make the 25 pound reward worth something, not a book, like an overnight trip.

Disnee Dad Says................................Gotta bump this. Come on and give advice, help. I stick to my advice to bump up the prizes.
And if you do hit 100 pounds lost, I say you go to WDW! That would be an ultimate goal.

The best 12wks I have ever spent on a diet were the 12wks before we were "suppose" to cruise!
No kidding, started coloring my hair (getting the gray out), dieting, walking 21miles/wk instead of 14, and doing my nails.
Wellllll - hopefully the 12wks before the cruise I WILL be dieting, exercising, etc again.

My husband is helping me "reward" myself for reaching weight goals. 'Nuff said?;)
