Hi Everyone! I forget the name of this restaurant but DH and I have ressies to eat here one night. Just curious on your thoughts, thanks in advance!

:thanks:

There are two restaurants at France... one is chefs and the other is bistro.

I have not done chefs in a few years but have always enjoyed it in the past. I did do Bistro, upstairs, my last visit in March and the food was great and service was good as well.

I do not think you will go wrong eating at either restaurant, just upstairs seems to be a bit more upscale.

Upstairs excellent $$$ fine dining.

Chef's for lunch OK, for dinner OK...its funny everything but the main course at chef's has been excellent. the main courses have been kind of dissapointing. But worth a trip.

We ate there Thursday night and enjoyed our dinner very much. I had the frenched pork chop with mushroom demi glace, served with macaronis gratin (upscale mac & cheese - yum) and my DH had the braised short ribs served with polenta. DH had lobster bisque as an appetizer and I had the tomato and goat cheese flatbread. For dessert, hubby had a crepe filled with apples and vanilla ice cream, while I had profiterroles au chocolat.

Our service was very good and our meal was excellent. We've been to Chefs before and we've enjoyed each time.

I would give Chefs a "9" on a scale from 1 to 10.

Last ate at Chef's Sept. 2005. We found it slightly disappointing. I believe I had french onion soup (or maybe it was a salad?) for the appetizer, the Gratin de macaroni for the entree (which I did not enjoy at all, in fact I don't think I ate more than a few bites) and the creme brulee for dessert (ok, but have had much better). SO had a cheese flat bread for his appetizer (which I really liked), the half chicken for his main selection (so-so) and a cheese plate with fruit for his dessert (too many blue-type cheeses for my taste, but some were ok). There are many places we enjoy more than Chef's so I don't see us returning any time soon.

We ate dinner there in December and had an outstanding experience. I'd give it a 9 out of 10. The service was 100% a ten though. They went above and beyond.

We ate there last Tuesday night and had almost the exact same meals as you did except for the lobster bisque and profiteroles. DH had the pate for his appy and I had the tart for my dessert. Delish! Loved the mac & cheese too! This was our first time eating at Chefs and we wish we had booked dinner there for every night of our trip. It was, by far, our best meal.

I had the Gratin de macaroni too... and I also thought it was gross. I couldn't quite figure out what was wrong but I did not enjoy it at all.

Please see my dining review for my thoughts on Chefs... warning... they are not positive.

We enjoy the food there. Have eaten there 3 times in the past, the last being Nov 06, and liked it very much. If I remember correctly I had the 1/2
chicken. I would go back again. Like others have said the service is excellent.

We just ate there last week. I thought it was very good. The only down side was that we had almost 1 hour wait for our table. They said it was due to the closing of Japan's restaurant for referb. I would return..

We ate at Chef's last Tuesday evening. The service was very good, the atmosphere was pretty nice and the food was quite good. My DH had tomato and goat cheese flatbread....it was fantastic, I had calamari that was very good. For our entree's DH had the salmon and potatoe pancacke, I had the scallops and shrimp. The salmon was good, the scallops and shrimp were very good. For dessert dh had the crepes with apples...very good. I had the chocolate tart...not great but not bad...I have had much better desserts. I would return again, although I look forward to trying some of the other restaurants first. I would rate it a 7-1/2 out of 10. Good to very good! There are just so many great places to eat...especially in Epcot!

I'm kind of looking forward to eating at this place. We booked it to replace the Japanese place that is opening late so it was sort of as an after thought but it should be interesting. We are not typically fine dining people so I will do my best to remember to keep my elbows off the table!! :rotfl:
