:surfweb: Wow Hadley- I never would have thought of that.

Looks like there has been a misunderstanding about parking.

Any student, who is a licensed driver, may register to drive to and park at **HS. Please note that all financial obligations must be paid before parking permits will be issued"

I hope i am wrong and it is another school. Either way you may really want to look at the photos and be careful. There are some nuts out there.

She lied. She wants to punish the step daughter b/c she HATES her mother.

She also lied about the cell phone service. In the past, she has taken the cell away from the DSD so she could not call her mother. So, seems like the reception is fine up there.

Not even my 8 and 11 year olds have to be in bed by 8:30pm. Heck, most nights they're just getting home from soccer practice then.

I thought I had strict bedtimes. Dd7 and dd7, plus dd9, have to be in bed at 8:30, except when they have late activities. Ds12 should be in bed by 9. They had 8 pm bedtimes until the age of 8 or so (the twins got bumped up 1/2 hour because dd7 and dd9 now share a room). I guess living in a more suburban area, my kids have more freedom. Today was 1/2 day, both ds12 and dd14 went out for lunch, and then walked to friends' homes. They have the run of the town at this point. They can walk to many, many places.

I said she had good grades and is a good kid, it does not mean that she has not been deceitful and lied thru her teether many times. It is only after she gets caught that she confesses. It is not her fault, that is what she has learned. She needs to learn now that it is not right.

you are right...she has learned to lie...I would lie too...she has to tell lies, b/c she cant do the simplest things that all her friends can do!

we are not in the stone age

Unflippppinnnn believable :sick::eek::confused:

Well, she's a teenager, they all tend to "twist the truth" to get what they want at one time or another. My Mother thought I knew how to rollerskate, I always told her that's where I was... :rolleyes1

What does she have to be truthful about? What part of your attitude towards her would lead her to believe that she can be open and honest with you? "lied through her teeth"?

EVERY word you say about her is dripping with disdain! Never thought I'd be PRAYING for someone to be a lying troll. I guess I am now!

You are not the one to be teaching children about truth.

Please stop. I am heartbroken for this child.

Get help. For her. For you. For your absent DH. Just get help.

I am truly hoping OP has just heard that the school it is only for seniors but not checked it out yet since her daughter has not started school OR I am wrong about which school .

I am starting to question where she really learned how to lie. So far, there are questions in "truthiness" about the parking, the car insurance, the cell phone reception, the hours she can work, and the stories still seem to be a-changing. A lie by any other name...:rolleyes1

These are two contradicting statements.

And something tells me that maybe situations that had to do with her mother had something to do with her lying.

Don't punish her for her mother's actions, don't push her over the edge just to prove that she's who you think she is.

And you think treating her like a 6 year old in a prison is going to make her honest :confused3 Open your eyes, this is going to make her lie more and more. Of course its very possible you know this and is hoping for that, and then you can use your high authority to deem that her moving in was not the right thing and isn't working out and she can be shipped elsewhere.

FYI Teens lie and if they tell you they don't, they are lying

OP ps~ all kids lie; and it sounds like you push her to the limit; no amount of trying to rationalize w you works.

I would lie to you 2 !

This poor girl; you need therapy.....

One point for using "truthiness" in a sentence and making me laugh for a brief moment in the middle of this cluster-eff of a thread!!

What use is the parking space when she's not allowed to drive?

That seems so trivial compared to all the other things....

OP- are any of those cute kids in your signature her? They are all look very sweet!

Here's to hoping the kid knows how to knit so she can pass the hours spent alone in her bedroom without any form of anything until sleep finally comes to transport her from the hell she's living in.
