A few weeks ago I posted about someone I work with who was constantly out. I basically have been doing her job as well as mine on the many days she's been out. I've come in early and stayed late to make sure things are set up and the classroom continues to run smoothly. Yesterday at school this person said to me " I wrote you a thank-you card for all the extra work you've been doing for me, but I lost the card-sorry" Iwasn't sure if I was supposed to be grateful that she had even taken the time to write the card, or hurt that she lost it and didn't feel the need to write a new one. So right now I'm just feeling very confused and:(

Call me a skeptic but this makes me think that she knows just how much she is taking advantage of your good nature and wants to be sure that she continues to 'insure your cooperation' as long as possible ......... as long as that doesn't mean that she actually has to make the effort of actually 'writing' a thank you note. !!!

Why didn't she just get a new one and not tell you about it? Sounds like swanmom hit it.

Although I agree she should have just written you out another one......

I guess it is the thought that counts, and she did make it a point to tell you that she is thankful for the extra effort you have made to make her life a little bit easier.

maybe I'm too cynical, but I think she doesn't want anything in writing saying she hasn't been doing her job!
