How would you do this?

I bought the "once upon a time" scrapbook that has been floating around this board. I bought both the 8x8 and the 12x12. I plan on making one or the other our guestbook and the other an actual scrapbook. It fits in perfectly with the fairy tale theme that I am working on. My thought is one that crosses between the photo-matte signing and the book signing. I will print 20 pics of us beginning with when we started dating and then moving through our relationship (skipping over the year when I had short hair because ew :rotfl: ) and the last pics will be a few from our engagement shoot which is next week  . Each pic will be placed on a page and people can sign around it. Maybe I will write a short sentence under each or a quote.

I like my idea but I wonder how I could execute it. Would you leave the pages out on a table and just have people find which one they want to sign? And which size would you use for this? Larger or smaller? I guess I am just looking for some insite from all of you wonderfully creative people here on the dis!!

Since my wedding is around the 50 guest count I thought it seemed silly to have a traditional guestbook with only one or two pages filled out. I bought a traditional 12x12 guestbook and redesigned it to fit with my theme. I bought some different decorative scrapbook pages to tell a story (a page about how we met, a page about DF, a page about me, a page about our DFTW). At my guestbook table guests can have a look at that or fill out their own guestbook page. After the wedding the guestbook pages slide into the scrapbook sleeves and more pages can be added later during our at home reception.

Here is the customized guestbook page I made:

The pages will be sitting at the guestbook table in a neat stack that is tied with a ribbon. I plan to actually have someone monitor the guestbook making sure it is being filled out in good order and completed sheets are taken care of.

I would suggest that you place someone in charge of your guestbook. Have them explain to each guest what to do and to make sure chaos hasn't erupted and you have pages all over the place. They could either hand each guest a page to sign or allow them to choose their own. I would say bigger is the better format here as some guests might have larger freehand writing like I do. It will also give them the space to write a little message which will be a wonderful keepsake for you. I wrote specific questions on my guestbook pages to give the guests who don't know what to say a little prompt.

I hope somewhere in my ramble you can find some useful information. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help. :thumbsup2

Instead of pictures of us - we are going to try to have one page per guest - with some questions like above poster stated - and then leave a place for a picture of the the guest or couple that signed that page at the wedding. Maybe of them and us or with one of us or of them dancing or anything like that. There is a website call guestbookstore.com that you can get preprinted pages with questions like How do you know bride and groom - Wishes for bride and groom - Funny memory of bride and groom etc. There is also a place for a picture on each page.

What a great idea. I just read about this in a planning book yesterday, so I'm glad to see some more detailed descriptions. The book I read also suggested having one page for each table and also taking pictures of each table and/or guest to put on the page with their info.
