With the exciting news of the Harry Potter coming to Universal, how would you envision a Harry Potter Theme park?
I am not well versed on Universal or Harry Potter, so please pardon me if I commit a few errors..
The primary focus in my vision is on effects more than thrill rides. IMO that is what separates a um...flags park, from a Universal or Disney Park.
A train to Hogwarts is a good start, perhaps you can enter through the brick column by using the mist effect like is used in Pirates? I have lots if ideas just on the train set up....
The castle needs to be HIGH TECH, something to make people ooohhhh and aaaawww. ( NO day-glow orange things "floating" on fishing line
If they do as well on this as they did on the Mummy, it will be great. )
Of course it will need the changing talking pictures, and lots of hologram effects. Shifting stairs would not be that difficult as long as they are for effect and not function.
Another must is a restaurant where you can eat at large heavy tables under the floating candles. This could be a counter service place or take it to the top and make it a " Medieval Times" type of dinning experience complete with a show!!
I am not a fan of movie simulator rides, but I could see a ride in the the flying car type attraction.
The make up/ horror show could become a Wizzard class, and think of the things they could sell in the gift shops, from wands to potions...no Pixy dust here lol. ( I love Disney, so don't flame me please..) What were those little living plants? I can see those being sold also.
OK I have a ton of ideas and could go on for hours. What are your ideas? I am sure those of you have read the books really have some great ones!
