How would this work

I am going to be travelling to DL at the end of March with my hubby and 4 kids.
Two of my kids are little so the height restrictions will affect them more. When it comes to the rides with the height restrictions is it possible to have all of us wait in line and then one parent and one of the bigger kids go on and then do a parent swap with the other parent and child? That way each parent and older child can ride together as opposed to one parent riding with the two kids and then the other riding by themselves?
If this doesnt work does anybody else have any suggestions on how to do this?

When we were there in 2000, it worked. We all would wait in line and when we got to the loading area, we would tell the CM "Baby Swap" and one parent would stay the kid that couldn't ride while the other parent rode with the kids that could ride. The other parent with the one kid, waited at the end of ride area, when the ride was over, you swapped the "baby" and the parent and one kid would get on and ride.

We had 3 kids and only one couldn't ride some of the rides. It was a great way to have the family ride a ride and we switched out the kid that rode with the other parent.

We saved a lot of time doing this.

We do this ALL the time. It's great! You don't even have to stand in line with the first parent. You go up to the CM at the start of the line and ask if they do a "child swap". Once your DH and children get in line, the CM will hand you a paper. This is your pass to take you and one other person with you after the first parent has gone on the ride. This frees you up to take the little ones to another ride, or wander around a bit. It is wonderful!

Also you can maximise fast pass this way. Since only 3 of you at most would go on the first round, you could use the tickets for the 2 that aren't riding to get tickets for another fast pass ride.

For example, lets say you get 3 space mountain fast pass tickets at 8:05am and then run over to Indy at 8:10am and get 2 fast pass tickets. This way on Space your DH and 2 oldest could fp the ride and then you would go on with one of your children with the child swap. At Indy, your DH and one child would go on, then you would child swap and bring your other child, if they are tall enough, or you could bring the child that just rode.

Another great thing about the child swap, you do not have to use it immediately after your DH and children get off. You can use it any time through out the day, just like a fast pass!

Just FYI - I don't think you will all be able to wait in line together. In our experience they won't let the kids wait in line if they don't meet the height requirement.
