How would this work?

I have two PINs: A 20/30/40 and a Monster. Airfares are not what I expected so I am thinking we need to either downgrade :scared1:or do a split stay between a value/mod and the AKL (where we are booked at now).

Can I tell them that I want to use my Monster PIN for the value/mod and the 20/30/40 for the AKL? How does it work with the check in/out?

If we do a split stay, which one would you do? Go from Value to AKL? Or Mod to AKL? I really want to do AKL the entire time, but airfare is ridiculous!:headache: So bummed....:sad2:

someone will correct me if I am wrong but you can use the Monster 40% off on both resorts. You can use the pin to book more than one room. But doing the split stay - I would start at the val/mod first (because I tend to go to the parks more in the beginning and relax a little towards the end) and that way you can use the balcony at AKL and relax watching the animals and taking in the resort.

I was just reading another thread and someone posted a response about a split stay, which we are thinking of.....

The poster stated that you have to buy separate dining plans for both ressies and separate tickets for each resort. After all teh research I have done one this I thought that the dining plan is tied to your length of stay which would include a split stay and not connected to your tickets. Even if we did stay at one resort we were not planning on buying ticket for the length of stay since we were not planning on attending the parks on our last day. But we were planning on getting the QSDP.

Can anyone please let me know how this will work with a split stay? Tickets and buying dining plan? And tickets and FD plan (if it comes out to GP or we get a PIN)?

Also how does a split stay work? I have read that it's easy and some posts that it's a pain in the you-know-what.

Thanks!

It's my understanding that your stay ends when you check out of the first resort and a new stay starts when you check into the second resort. So you will probably need to buy tickets for both stays.

Correct.

Incorrect. One dining plan would not cover a split stay. Your statement was fine, until you wrote "which would include a split stay". That is incorrect. Never has been that way.
You will need to buy tickets for each res and add the dining plan for each res, if that is what you want.
You could buy the number of park ticket days you want on your first res, and not use the days on the second res. (Saving them for a future trip.) But you will need to follow whatever requirements are for each reservation. Meaning if you want FD, then each res will require a minimum of a 2 day ticket per person on the res.

That makes calculations of the savings much more complicated... <sigh>

You won't find doing a split stay as saving $, as a rule of thumb. Not unless you are figuring on saving money by having a less expensive resort/room for part of the trip. If you do a split stay, it makes the planning and trip more complicated IMO.

What are you looking for in a resort? The mod resorts are good. Not as good as the deluxes of course. But also consider how much resort and room time you plan.

You do have to buy seperate dining and if you want dining you have to get at least a 2 day base ticket (which you can save for another time), if you get a longer ticket on the first ressie (to last the whole trip, as long as under 14 days after first use). If you dont want dining plan on 2nd ressie, then you dont need to buy tickets again as long as buy ones to last for whole vacation.
We are doing a split (kinda) with 3 days in between on a cruise....the first 6 nights we are doing the ddp and I got 8 day tickets....the last 5 nights we are doing room only but my tickets will still be good until the day I leave...:thumbsup2
