I hope this doesn't sound like an ignorant question. We will be in WDW in April, and would love to visit the Atlantis Resort (Bahamas) while in that part of the country. Is there any other way of getting there besides Flying? Hopefully someone can help me out. I know there are shuttle services to Port Canaveral, but then what would be the next step from there?

The 3 and 4 day Disney cruises go to Nassau where you can get a day room at the Atlantis. I am sure someone else can give you more details, but I thought that if a cruise is not sold out you could get a last minute deal. This would be a fabulous addition to your vacation. BTW no question is ignorant around here!

I think the Carnival ship out of Port Canaval also goes to Nassau. At least we saw one while we were there in 2001.

BTW... The Atlantis Resort is wonderful! We spent a day there and it was one of the highlights of our cruise.

Are you sure you do not wish to fly??? We always do Atlantis/Disney in one trip. We go To Atlantis first and fly to MCO. the flight is very short - 1 hour and not expensive. It is a commuter jet, very comfortable 40 seater. Delta and American Eagle are the 2 I have always flown. Its a very easy, pleasant flight:D

I guess we probably will fly from MCO, We just wanted to spend a few hours at Atlantis to visit, and thought maybe there was some kind of boat-shuttle. (apparently not) Thanks for the advice.

We were in Freeport the last week of Jan and met a lovely British couple that now live in NH. They came down for a long weekend by boat from Miami. (Ok, they flew NH to Miami, but took a boat to Freeport) I can't remember the name of the boat, though, sorry. Does anyone know anything about this for the OP? I curious about it, too. I wish I would have had a pen to write the info down, but where would I have put it in my suite? ;)
