From Disney Travel agents tip of the week

How will someone know if the airline lost their luggage? Since they don't see their luggage until they arrive at the hotel, what will happen if Disney tries to claim their baggage at the airport, but the airline has lost it?

At the Disney Welcome Center we ask the Guest how many items were checked with the airline so that we reconcile the correct number of bags to be collected for the Guest. If a bag is delayed by the airline, we start the research process with the airline on behalf of the Guest. If in an extreme situation the luggage is lost or will be delayed for an inordinate amount of time, we will know before the Guest and will contact them directly to advise them of the situation.

Thanks a lot for the info. I was just asking my wife the same question last night. We leave in three days and I am sure there will be some ME problems, but hey it's still free. I still wish I had my tags though.... :mickeybar

There really should not be a reason for you to have to go back to the airport to resolve missing baggage issues. DME cast members will interface with the airlines on your behalf. At most, you may have to call the airlines 1-800 number to talk directly to the airline.
