How will I get my marriage license - and how do I get copies?

So we have all of our marriage license done etc.

And am I right in assuming no the day we just leave it with Teresa Knox and she will hand it in to wherever it needs to go?

If so does that mean that our official certificate will be mailed to our home address?

I am going to need some copies to change things back here in the UK - how do I go about getting those? Would be helpful if they could come with the original so I have them right away.

Yes, after the ceremony Rev. Knox had our witnesses sign the license, he took it with him and mailed it to the courthouse. I included the envelope it came with (already addressed to the courthouse we applied) and about a month later we got the signed/sealed copy in the mail at home.

We took the signed license back to the courthouse ourselves so we could have it for coming home to the UK. They offered us copies then at a cost which I can't remember. This worked better for us.

yeah i have been wondering the same thing as a UK bride.We have Rev Jack Day as officiant and are going through Say i do weddings inc as apparently they take care of it all for a fee. Has anyone had any dealings with them or what happens once you send away for the license - from a UK bride perspective?

I doubt a company can do it dor you without you present...?

The courthouse sent mine back to me and got to me 3 weeks after the wedding (was impressed as this was over Christmas!). I didn't pay for extra copies (I think you can order more through the courthouse via your officiant or after your wedding directly) but it's been fine most places just need photocopies to change your name etc.
