See my below post. How do you think Disney will listen to their fans' concerns about the movies and parks best?

1. Through active messages. (ex. letters)
2. Through passive messages (ex. boycotting)
3. They will not listen to either.

The only things that talks to the disney company under its current mis-management is money, but i dont think we can start a big enough boycott to cause disney to change their current policies. And their MAJOR price increase and the dismantling of the magic kingdon club are prime examples. I know myself that while i am going to visit wdw this year, i will stay off site and eat as little as possible on site. But will stay on site ast Universal while im visiting there.

I don't feel like any type of protest will do any good with the present board and management. Like Bob, I feel that not enough people would boycott to matter because most people really don't care anyway but just visit WDW because "it's time to take the kids". They'll go and be glad that they did what they were supposed to IMO.

We will visit WDW only briefly during our trip this year. We're not boycotting but feel like it's time to do other things for a change. Besides my husband who doesn't care for Disney is more willing to go if we spend little time there but then he's a bit odd. ;)

They DON'T listen. I've taken a few complaints to Guest Services and they have an amazing ability to dance around your complaint and twist it into a free commercial for themselves.

Example - I called to complain about the terribly short hours this past summer. The rep that I spoke with listened (half-heartedly, I'm sure) to my complaint, then went on and on telling me about how fortunate I was to be visiting the parks at the end of August. How we would almost have the parks to ourselves and we could ride all the rides without waiting, yada, yada.

She completely brushed off my biggest concern, which was the lack of "dark time" in the Magic Kingdom. We like to experience the park after dark, and we didn't get that opportunity because the parks closed so early. It was like talking to a wall.

does anybody know what time the parks are open till in october (15th-20th to be exact)? thanx in advance

I agree, grinningghost. When I wrote to them regarding the elimination of EE way back when I got a pleasant, but unhelpful response via a phone call.

Granted, EE was reinstated eventually....but being told that "guests" wanted more characters and not time in the parks was rather insulting. I guess it was a combination of complaints and a drop in bookings that changed their tune. I don't know that either one or the other could have done it alone....because they don't listen and when they start losing money they tend to draw the wrong conclusions about why. I think this situation must have been one where they couldn't come to any other conclusion because there were so many complaints.

1) Even money won't make a difference.
2) Anyone listening to the stock meeting sees this.
3) They will just "spin" it and blame someone else.

While I doubt very seriously that it's going to help much, I wrote a letter today per the savedisney site's request. I wrote it in defense of 2d/traditional animation. I usually don't write letters about things that I see going wrong, unless I feel really strongly about the subject. In this case, I certainly do, but I doubt that my words will cause any corporate changes in policy. Maggie
