How & When to Mobil Order

Wow! Also stunned by this news. I expect mobile ordering is here to stay, even post-covid. Mobile ordering is going to be like FP and ADRs. Many people still don't know about or understand FPs and are frustrated when they wait standby, watching the FP line move along.
I have witnessed many, many times, people walk up to a table service podium requesting a seat, only to be turned away because they did not make an ADR (180 days in advance).
Now, we'll have the same situation with mobile ordering. If you don't know to place your order in the morning, you are out of luck....NO SOUP FOR YOU!

Mobile ordering has been around a while. I've always used it, made no sense to me to wait in line when I can do other things while food is being prepared. It's just that right now it's basically mandatory due to covid. Once restrictions are over, it'll go back to what it has been, you can mobile order or order in line

The only thing that is new is the timeslots. I'm guessing that'll likely to either go away, or it won't be as hard to get a timeslot you want

Just to chime in on ordering QS from your hotel for breakfast - this is what we did for the week we were @ WL in December.

I would get up a little after 6am, and then I'd go ahead and place our breakfast order since I knew I wanted to pick it up at 7am when Roaring Forks first opened. I was usually back to the room with our order by 7:15ish - I found this super convenient and we literally ate there every day!

There was one night when we were talking about what we wanted for breakfast the following morning and DS and I decided we didn't want breakfast foods, so on our way back to the hotel while riding the bus from Epcot, I placed an order for a cheeseburger meal and a chicken nuggets meal, when we got to the bus stop I hit the "I'm here" button to prepare my food and by the time we got to Roaring Forks our food was ready! It was a delicious warmed up, and unconventional breakfast the next morning!

We also stayed at BLT in October and had the same experiences with ordering from Contempo Cafe - we could order from our room and then walk over to the Contemporary and pick up the food!

I am thinking the mobile ordering is here to stay!

I was just at the World & surprised with crowd level. I guess local block out dates on AP and castmembers finally allowed to enter with ticketing is reason.
Don’t forget the Commissary at HS is open . The grilled cheese with chicken sounded strange to me but both my grandson (14) and his father took one bite of their sandwiches and really said Wow this is good. My daughter is vegan and had rice & beans which also looked goood. They have desserts too ! I don’t think I have ever eaten at this location before.

Also found the mobile order from room at POP Century so helpful. Their oatmeal is good and side of scrambled eggs . Discovered they have the brown sugar packets and raisins in box with the oatmeal but no milk unless I purchased whole bottle. I asked for extra brown sugar packets for coffee in room and extra fresh cream pods ( coffee) to use to top the oatmeal since I didn’t know how long those cream pods were sitting in the room. They are kept cold in the restaurant. Plus they have bananas on their menu which surprised me.
I also must say I have become addicted to those Softee Donuts from Hostess(?) sold in the gift shops at most locations and once discovered them sold out at evening return to room So get them when you see them. I think it was 4 chocolate 4 powdered sugar and 4 plain.
I have purchased them at Contemporary(BLT) and POP and Grand DestinoTowers... so yes I am addicted.

I have two in our group who are gluten free so how do we request that mobile ordering?

There are usually allergy menus in the app for common allergens (gluten/wheat, egg, fish/shellfish, milk, peanut/tree nut, soy). If you're not comfortable with that, you can ask to order in person to make sure your needs are met.

How does paying work for mobile order? Can I use apple pay?

Yes, you can use Apple Pay, but the default is to the CC attached to your MDE account (for guaranteeing ADRs, etc.). I used Apple Pay a couple of times with mobile order in December, but just using the default card in MDE was much easier.

Thank you! I did make some ADRs so if that card is already in the system that will be even easier. Thank you! I'm assuming then that I can use apple pay at non mobile order quick service locations.

@ OP, THANK YOU for starting this thread!

DH HATES to book ADR's 180 out and I really thought QS Mobile Ordering meant you placed the order when you wanted to eat (not in the AM for lunch). Now DH is grumbling about disliking Disney again! Oy, I can't win!

Can you use more then one Gift Card when paying? I read someplace that someone sent themselves an email or self text that contained a few gift card numbers with different amounts. Then when they did the Mobile Ordering they chose a gift card with the closest amount and did a "Copy" & "Paste" into the App. But I never heard if it takes more then one type of payment (or two gift cards). Thank you!
