How wet on splash mountain?

Just going over our plan for a 1/2 day at MK next Friday. We will do rope drop, and are thinking to do splash mountain first, then BTM (we have a 9-10 FP). Our next FP is for Cinderella & Rapunzel from 1020-1120. Will we need to change clothes after splash mountain? How wet will we get?

I know we are using FP early, but we have reservations at BOG for 1240, and want to leave the park right after, so we plan to finish all rides by 1230.

As long as you don't ride in the front you should be good. I rode it twice last friday and my pants got wet from the water that was on the seat more than anything.

You can get a few sprinkles to completely drenched. Also, your seat may be wet when you board the ride vehicle. I just use a disposable, dollar store poncho to be safe when I need to be somewhere after the ride.

Oh, I can never count on it to be consistent to save my life. I have probably been in every row and have gotten off with a small mist yet other times drenched. One thing I CAN count on is to likely get the opposite of what I want (stayed nice and dry/hot on a 99 degree May afternoon....became an honorary soaked Ariel on a chilly Dec evening.....really, Splash Mountain???)

I would really love to know how you can avoid getting drenched. Water always seems to pour in on my no matter where I sit! But getting soaked on Splash Mountain is better than any day at home

We rode twice and barely got drips but you know if you don't want to be wet you will! I would go the poncho method just in case. I usually do a quick swipe of the seat before sitting.

I've never really gotten TOO wet on Splash. If you're in the front, you might get it a bit more. The seats are always wet though, and I hate sitting in water, so I keep a folded up plastic bag in my park bag to sit on

I absolutely hate getting wet. My dh and kids ride it a few times before I'd go on. I had a coat, a hat, and a backpack in front of me, and I still ended up wet. Next trip I'm bring a giant poncho and plastic bags on my feet. I really liked the ride, and I hope this way I can enjoy it with my family multiple times

it varies every time i ride it.
now that ponchos are allowed i wear one.
i can enjoy the ride without getting wet. (some people say "but isn't that the point of SPLASH mountain?" and to those people i say "there is so much more to splash mountain than just getting wet and i go on the ride for those other reasons not to get wet")

i would recommend ponchos over packing an extra set of clothes for everyone just because you're meeting characters shortly after.

I agree with the PP's, it varies.

Most times I get away with a few drops of water.

ONE time, I was soaked to the core. I was so wet that one of the CM's in the exit cue asked if I had fallen out of the log.

I have worn ponchos since that incident. :)

It will probably be opposite of what you're hoping for . I got drenched and DS-5,right next to me, got a mist. We were both a little bit disappointed.

If you want to get wet You'll need to sit near me , because I'm a water magnet ( for some reason when it comes to this ride, Oh & also Kali RR too ). Actually front back middle I've found doesn't make a difference, but I do believe the right side of the log gets it first in some spots... Also when you are down coming around the turn on the bottom & you look up & there is another log about to come down the main drop, (when that log reaches the bottom, I believe it sets off a water cannon which sprays over by your log. ( and this is on the right side...):confused3 But like Kimieko stated b4, It's better to get wet at WDW, than be at home..LoL

I have tried avoiding the front row, changing the side I sit on etc. and I always seem to be the one looking like a drowned rat after the ride. It is a family joke.
Same here. I was even soaked wearing a cheap poncho. Kali rapids...same thing.

Over a few dozen rides I've never been more than misted...until the last ride, October last year. After the final hill, the logs were stopped, right at a point where a water feature from the side was splashing right into our log. My hat kept my head dry-ish, but I was soaked otherwise.

How wet you will get depends on your luck. I must say however that I have never changed clothes after riding splash mountain. If you get wet, it will dry before too long. Especially in the summer. Riding BTMRR after Splash will help dry you as well, except for your butt of course. ;)

Last time I rode I got soaked so wet that I went and bought a new pair of shorts

Last time I rode I stayed perfectly dry all the way down then going around the last curve a bucket of water from above dumped right on my head :laundy: walked around wet for several hours. I'm not sure a poncho would have helped. Lucky or unlucky depends on how hot it is.

I have gotten wet in the front seat and the back seats. I have not gotten wet in the front seat and the back seats. No pattern that I can discern. Having a tall and wide person sitting in front of you might help. Don't wear a hat though. On our last visit the guy in the front row was wearing a baseball cap which flew off during the big drop. Funniest thing was he seemed to think it was my fault! He spun around in his seat and asked me "Where is my hat?" like he expected me to hand it back to him. I just shrugged and he glared at me. I'm not sure why he thought I had anything to do with it!

I've probably ridden it close to 25 times over the years, and you just never know. I've ridden near the front (not first row, second), near the back, left and right. However, even if I got wet, I never got as drenched as at Kali River Rapids. Although I've never needed to change clothes, I try to go to Splash Mountain AFTER lunch instead of before,so I'm not sitting in air conditioning with damp clothes.
