I have come off bone dry and I have come off sopping wet. It depends on how you go down. If you are in the front when the little drop happens then you'll get super soaked.
As the others have indicated, it can vary quite a bit. A little wet happens...so does totally drenched. I usually wind up quite wet. We have tended to schedule Kali as the last thing we do at AK, so we can go back wherever we're staying and change. Be sure to store anything you don't want wet in the storage compartment at the center and keep your feet on the footrests. As far as a comparison vs. Splash Mountain, it can vary, but on average Kali is significantly wetter.
Like everyone says it can vary quite a bit on how wet you get depending on where you sit on the raft. I thought maybe physics played into how wet you get, ie. you are sitting on the heaviest side of the raft & go down the drop first, but this did not prove to be true the last time we rode it since my niece who is 8 yrs old was sitting by herself & she got drenched!

They don't have covers on the center area anymore. However, they do have free lockers you can use while you ride. They are at the entrance of the ride.
