How were crowds this week? Getting less busy?

Just wondering how the crowds were this past week? I had one DSIL and family down there this week and 2 DBIL's and families leave tomorrow for their vacations. How horrendously hot was it?

I want to be prepared for when my DSIL tells me about her trip - she's not the most positive of people so I'm wondering how she made out!

Wasn't in the parks at all this week - yet - we're going today, but I called for PS seating at two restaurants in MGM later today & was able to get the exact times I wanted at both. I'm hoping that's a positive sign for attendance decreasing a little bit.

It was EXTREMELY hot & humid down here this entire week. No sign of letting up, yet.

We were there just this past Monday - Friday and we couldn't have gotten luckier! The crowds were pretty light. We walked onto R&R coaster. ToT. Test Track. However. we did wait th 40 minutes for Expedition Everest. We did find truth in the tip about going to the park the day after it had EMH at night. We went to Epcot on Tuesday night and it was packed. We went back on Wednesday night and were able to do Soarin and Test Track with no problems and virtually no wait. We went on our last day and waited 10 minutes for Buzz and then went over and used our FP for SpaceMountain.

It was a great trip! The crowds were very managable! Can't wait to go back in October!

Extremely hot and humid I can take . . . I'm just happy when there aren't any hurricances this time of year!

We went to MK yesterday and I was surprised at how low the crowds were. It was just me and DD (3.5) so we didn't do the "big rides", but noticed from the wedway that the waite time for Space Mountain was only 30 minutes at around 2:00. On our way out the parade was going on and there were good curb spots available. One thing I noticed was that all the rides listed a 20 minute wait time on the sign, but this was just wrong. The HM said 20 minutes, but was walk on. Snow White said 20 minutes and it took 5. Pirates said 20, it was 10. There wasn't even lines at the ice cream carts and restraunts...and it was HOT. We ate at Columia Harbor House at 12:15 they had 3 cashiers open and the lines were only 2 people deep. It was much more crowded when we were there in May,

This reminded me of when I worked as a restaurant hostess when I was in college. The restaurant didn't take reservations (it was waterfront, so they had a first come, first serve policy so as not to tie up window tables). I always told people the wait was about 10-20 minutes longer than I thought it would be. First, if I ended up with a bunch of "sitters", I was covered. And, if a group was seated earlier than they expected - they were so thrilled and their dinner got off to a great start before their butts even hit the seat.

I don't know why I threw this out there - it just brought back memories. Maybe Disney does something similar to give people the impression they are getting on an attraction much faster than they were supposed to (or they just don't change the signs all that quickly). :hourglass

I think it's not crowded now due to the free Dining that will start on the 13th. I know a bunch of people who adjusted their plans so they can get the free dining. I just hope it won't be that bad when we are there next week!

My thought, exactly! Would love to hear from people who are there starting today! :)

MGM wasn't that crowded at all yesterday. We didn't do the rides, but the shows were no wait at all. When we got out of dinner a little around 8:30, we thought the park was closed because we walked from Mama Melrose's to the Sorcerer's Hat & only saw 2 CM's - no people! But the park didn't close until 9:00 & I think everyone had gone to Fantasmic. We went into Walt, One Man's Dream & we were the only people in there until we had to leave at 9:00 pm. We're going down again today & I hope it's the same.:)

all rooms have been booked for a couple months for week of 13th. so going week of 20th. that week you can still get any hotel on disney property you want. the way i estimate crowds is to check availability at disney resorts to see how booked they are and their was so much more available for week 20th plus by then almost all schools will be in session.
