Hi all!
Just back from WDW this last Sat (12/19) and my DH and used the basic DDP for the first time. We were not sure about how much money this would actually save us (we figured we would break even but wanted to try it), but we were surprised at not only how much it did save us, but how much food has gone up since our last visit a few years ago, although I don't know why because everything at home as gone up as well! I researched the TS places and was prepared for the prices there, but not for the cost of QS places so I was really glad we decided to try our the DDP!
Here is where we ate and the costs (minus tip because we had to pay that anyway!)
Day 1-
Yak and Yeti QS $31.25 for 2 honey chicken $8.99 each, 2 sodas $2.39 each, 1 choc chip cookie $2.99 and one chocolate cake $3.59
Les Chefs De France - $88.71 for 1 tenderloin of beef ($32.95), 1 seafood pasta ($29.95) 2 sodas ($2.95 each) and 2 crème brulee (7.25 each) **on a side note this was our worst meal the whole week!)
2 snacks- $8 ( I think these were 2 cakes from POFQ food courts at $3.59 each plus tax)
Total for day: $127.96
Day 2
Harry Ramsdens Fish and Chips at Yorkshire County Fish Shoppe $25.07 for 2 fish baskets($ 7.99 each), 2 shortbread ($1.69 each) 2 sodas ($2.09 each)
Teppan Edo $68.69 (Dinner) Ueno- chicken and shrimp combo ($24), Nihonbashi- chicken steak combo ($28) 2 ice creams ($4 each), 2 sodas ($2.25 each)
2 snacks $9.50- 2 milkshakes POFQ food court at $3.99 each
Total for day: $103.26
Day 3
Sommerfest- $25.11 for 2 brats ( $6.39 each), one cheesecake ($3.59), one blackforest cake ($3.59), 2 sodas ($2.09 each)
Mama Melorse (Dinner) $51.61 for 2 Chicken Parmesans ($16.99 each), 1 gelato ($3.99) 1 warm truffle cake ($5.99) 2 sodas ($2.25 each)
Snacks- I think these were 2 cakes again from the POFQ food court so we will say $8
Total for day $84.72
Day 4
We slept in today and got a late start. We bought our breakfast at 11am at the POFQ and paid OOP to split something we had 4:30 ressies for:
Hollywood and Vine Fantasmic Dinner Package $66.01 ($30.99 each)- buffet
QS in room later in the evening from PO food court $31.48 for 2 fried chicken dinners ($8.69 each) 2 bottled drinks ($2.50 each) and 2 cakes for dessert ($3.59 each)
2 snacks $9.50- 2 more yummy milkshakes from POFQ food court at $3.99 each
Total for day: $106.99
Day 5
Nine Dragons Lunch $48.83 for 1 Fried Rice ($14.98), Kung Pao Chicken (15.98) 2 sodas ($2.95 each) banana chessecake eggroll ($8.99 serves 2)
Harry Ramsdens Fish and Chips at Yorkshire County Fish Shoppe $25.07 for 2 fish baskets($ 7.99 each), 2 shortbread ($1.69 each) 2 sodas ($2.09 each)
2 snacks from Goofys Candy Company $7.43 (1@ $2.99 and 1@ $3.99)
Total for Day: $81.33
Day 6
POFQ Breakfast $ 22.77 for 2 Mickey Waflles with Sausage ($5.69 each) 2 apple juice ($2.50 each) and 2 bottles of Water ($2.50 each).
Lunch at Biergarten buffet- $42.58 ($19.99 each )
2 snacks at food court $8 for 2 cakes plus tax
Total for day: $73.35
Grand total: $577.61
Now for the two of us the DDP cost a total of $479.88 so we clearly saved about a hundred dollars. We would not hesitate to do it again on a trip for the two of us but maybe not with kids because to really get the best bang for your buck, dinner TS are going to be the best choice. We did do a few lunches and you can clearly see on those days our daily totals were lower. Not sure if with the kids the dinner ADRs would always work. I LOVED LOVED LOVED the convenience of it and did not mind paying the tip at all since we would have done so regardless if we had eaten at 6 TS restaurants. We will seriously consider doing the DDP again even with the kids. I will be reviewing all the restaurants over on the other board, so come check them out if interested!
