Any recommendations? Any disappointments? Seems like a lot of people have done the Tower Club but we are looking to stay only 1 night so it's not worth it for us but I'd really like the kids to be wowed by a terrific view of MK and the fireworks.

The Magic Kingdom view from the North Garden Wing is often mentioned as nice on this forum, but I think the most underrated view in all WDW is a water (i.e. Bay Lake) view from either the North or South Garden Wing. Ask for a first-floor patio and you'll get unparalleled tranquility, even though you're a hike from the Tower (mind you, a "hike" in this case means a walk of no more than 5 minutes to the Grand Canyon Concourse). You'll have a patio on which you can enjoy morning coffee or a drink after a long day at the parks.

So if you go with this view, make sure to ask for a first floor.

We have only stayed once - with the same exact view as the previous poster and my children loved it. The ducks came to tell us hello in the morning and they were steps away from a little playground area. Just beyond that was the lake - a 1 min. walk. As for the walk to the main building - we were rather far down the hall and with three children and two older people it never took us more than 5 minutes to get to the main building and then up the escalators to the monorail station.

The Bay view sounds lovely. In fact, it sounds just like the type of room we would normally be seeking but I don't think we'd be able to take advantage of it on this stay since we will be arrriving late afternoon, spending some time at MK and returning to the room by about 7- 7:30. We will be leaving in the morning not long after breakfast.

A big part of why we decided to stay here was because of its proximity to MK, so we could pop into the park for a few hours and not waste a lot of time travelling. Originally, I thought we would see Spectromagic and Wishes while in the park, but as it turns out there is no Spectromagic that night and Wishes is scheduled too late for us. It is, however, scheduled at a perfect time for us to watch from the room in pj's.

I don't usually fax requests, but I guess this time I'll try.
