How was this possible and should I write a letter?

I saw a dateline and when we first get to a hotel I check all ends of the bed for signs of bed bugs. (Now that was a scary dateline show to watch for sure!) That is when I found the sheets.

How do you check for bed bugs?

If we take the sheets or comforter off the bed, does that indicate we want new ones?



Sorry it wasn't the best experience for you, I have found that gatherings(anywhere) when you have your own young children to be with are difficult. It's hard to be at your best when you are trying to keep everyone happy.

we are a family of 5 and always stay at POR because we can't afford a deluxe. That said, last time we went I asked if we could be in the Mansion section, to have a little bit of a different feel. All rooms in POR are zoned for 5 people. AB just already has the trundle, so they don't have to do the roll away. If you choose to move to the Mansion, they make you pay for the roll away. If they put you there for their convenience the roll away is free (in place of the trundle). The rooms in both sections are exactly the same size and configuration. In my opinion, you did not pay for one thing and get another. You actually did receive full value in the room. Dirty sheets are just gross. Would not want to put up with that.

I just left Disney Saturday. I am a DVC member so we do not see housekeeping everyday. I gave my daughter a bath in the tub which had jets and when she got out the tub was lined with sand. We have not been to the beach nor the pool so I knew it was not her. I called housekeeping and they sent up someone a few hours later to clean up the tub.

A few days later she took another bath and turned on the jets and more sand.

On Wednesday when my room is suppose to be cleaned all I got was clean towels and a bag of coffee. No sheets were changed and the bed wasn't even made.

I did write a letter to DVC yesterday to let them know but I also had someother problems that needed to be addressed.

To that point I have never really had a problem with housekeeping.

I don't know what your other thread is about, but I agree with Jordanyosh. The responses you have received here have been pretty fair and accurate. You mentioned that you didn't want to be confrontational, so you could have simply picked up the phone after the housekeeper left and asked to have another set of sheets delivered to your room. If you really are non-confrontational, meet them at the door with the dirty sheets, lie and say your child stepped on them with muddy shoes and offer to remake the bed yourself. If you wanted to follow through with a letter regarding the lack of quality control in housekeeping, that would be fine. Sometimes it's just worth it to push away those butterflies in your stomach and make the phone call. Worrying about how to subliminaly get your need for clean sheets across to the housekeeper or worse yet, actually watching her put the dirty ones back on, can make it even more stressful. I think that's just the point many of us are trying to get across. Writing a letter is fine, but it's not something that would of helped you in that moment.

In terms of deluxe resorts, in order to fit 5 in a room at the WL or AKL, you need to book one of the larger deluxe rooms which have bedding for 5. Adding a rollaway to a 4 person room, is unfortunately not an option. All the other deluxe resorts fit 5 comfortably in a standard room, or you could book a FW Cabin, AllStar Family suite, or DVC 2-bedroom unit. Surprisingly enough, when you look at the rates for the WL, for only about $20 more per night, you can get a much larger room, steps from the Magic Kingdom at the CR (standard view, garden wing) and you're family would be "legal" occupancy there.
