We were in Epcot this year on the Fourth. We had fastpasses in the AM and then spent the afternoon in World Showcase. It didn't seem all that crowded to me. Definitely more people than other days but it didn't feel packed. At around 8:15pm we hopped on the monorail to watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks at 9pm from the TTC ferryboat dock. This was a great view. Right after they ended we hopped on the monorail back to Epcot, we had no problem getting back in. We found a spot on the railing of the pathway to World showcase on the Canada side, still in Future world but close to World showcase (hope that makes sense). There was a little bit of tree blocking our view but otherwise we could see right across to the America pavilion and saw all of the fireworks. The nice part was that, being on the railing, no one was standing in front of us. The people that were actually in World Showcase were many people deep. I would not hesitate to watch from there again and it was nice to be able to beat the crowds out afterward too! Both fireworks shows were amazing but the end of the Epcot ones were awesome, I am not a huge Illuminations fan either but am so glad we stayed for these fireworks!
