How to work changes to travel dates with new park ticket system

So we have been planning a trip to Disney for this upcoming May. Now it looks like i may have to change the time of the trip to later in the year. I have purchased park tickets already but with the new way they do things they are linked to my travel window.

I know that I will be able to use what i spent on them as a credit toward new tickets for when we go but my question is how does that work?

Do they stay in my MDE account so that if i purchase new ones for the new dates the funds automatically transfer or am i going to have to call to do such a thing?

Not that i have a love for Disney's website with the glitches and all but i would really prefer to be able to do it without having to be on hold forever trying to call.

I was just hoping someone here may have done this before and might have some insight on the process.

Don’t purchase new Tickets.

Go to each ticket in your account and Modify to the correct new dates or add the Flexible Option.

You’ll pay if there’s an increase in pricing. You won’t receive a refund if you’re going at a lower-priced time.
