How to unload useless points from resale purcahse?

We just passes ROFR on a BLT 600 contract with a Dec use year. I actually forgot the contract has 36 2012 points since I considered them practically unusable. Assuming it will take about another month until we go through closing and are in the Disney system, that brings us to mid to late August. The points expire on Nov 30. Is there anyway to unload them in such a short time?

We do happen to have a cash room reservation at BLT for 4 nights in Oct but I cannot see how we could integrate the points into that trip at such a late date. Besides, i am pretty sure you cannot combine a cash and point rez, right?

I just wanted to update that I found a way to use 33 of my 36 expiring points. I put in for a wait list for the last day of our BLT cash stay. It came through last week (while we were at Disneyland, lol) so I cancelled the last night of my cash reservation. The only thing is I now have two reservations: a cash reservation made through Disney World reservations for 3 nights followed by a one night stay made through DVC on points. they are both 1 bedroom lake view. I am hoping not to have to change rooms for the final night.

When you check into BLT for your first reservation, ask the CM to see if you are blocked into the same villa for the entire stay. If not, ask if they might make it work for you. Sometimes they can fix it so you stay in the same villa. You will have to check out and check back in and get new keys.

I agree with Deb. I have been 2 for 2 in the resorts working with me when combining cash (FL resident discount, not DVC discount) and points stay and not having to change rooms.
