How to tell which magicband is most recent

I’m planning on reusing magic bands (as a backup if magic mobile is glitchy). We have a bunch of previous MB’s listed on the MDE app and some of ours each year are the same color. Is there a way to determine which is the most recent MB for battery strength purposes?

i think they are listed in chronological order. Could be wrong though. I lost my DVC band a couple of weeks ago and it seemed like it was in chronological order but there were also pics of the bands with numbers of them also.

OK thank you that makes sense. It’s odd, all of mine have the numbers listed but only a few of them have pictures with them.

They should have numbers on the back of the puck of the magic bands that you can match up online in your MDE account. And a pp said, they are listed in chronological order, with the newest being at the top of the list

OK thank you! We’ve matched up the numbers but we just didn’t know which one was the most recent. That makes sense about the chronological order so we will go with that. Thanks!

PPs have answered your direct question, but this is one reason why for a couple of years I’ve been personalizing our resort MBs with initials and the last two digits of the year. That way when I venture into the drawer that has an embarrassingly high number of MagicBands, I can keep things reasonably straight and pick out the newer ones when needed. 😇

This is very wise!

The ones I just got yesterday in the mail. In the older box. I was amazed.

How does it activate a new reservation when you reuse an older Magicband?

Nothing is “on” any individual MagicBand - it’s really just a gateway to whatever is in your My Disney Experience account - be it park tickets, a resort reservation, etc. Unless you or someone else has manually deactivated older bands (not a very common thing to do), any MagicBand is ‘active’ and ready to do.

If in doubt, on Disney’s website click My Disney Experiance —> My MagicBand and Cards —> scroll to the bottom Manage MagicBands and Cards section to see the status of any MB connected to your account.

Hope that helps.

We also started adding the year for that very reason! Lol

I'm another one who personalizes with the year (or month & year if going more than once a year).

Like others have said, we just put an identifying initial and the date on the MB's we personalize.

Thanks so much! This does help!👍😊
