How to tell what counts as which credit?!

I did a search but honestly wasn't sure how to word it! So, I'm sure this has been asked a million times so I apologize in advance.

We're on the DDP. When my boys want a snack, will each place have listed what they consider a "snack"? I'm just worried that I'll order something and it's not included! And for the cs meals, we're using those mainly for lunches. Do you get a drink and dessert with those also? Can most meals at the counter service places be bought with a cs credit? If not, are the ones that are eligible clearly marked? We want to get the most out of the DDP so I want to have all my ducks in a row!

Yes, on all the CS & Snack Menu boards they have a litte ddp by the items included in your plan. It will be very easy to tell, and if you have a question just ask. I've yet to have a cast member be rude in a question about the dining plan.

As for CS...yes, a drink & dessert is included. You will find it easy to use your dining plan. I would never go to Disney without it.

Really, if you have a question just ask. I was so sick of the little chocolate cakes I always picked up for dessert & I asked my resort if I could have a bag of chips instead (which I thought was only a snack item) and they said yes!!! I'm glad I asked because I would not have know & probably would have never ate chocolate cake again.

As PP said, everything is clearly marked concerning snacks.
If you look in the pic below, the price for the strawberries has a little "square" with a DDP in it. That means it is a snack credit.

As for CS meals, I do believe ALL CS meals are on the plan. Haven't found one yet that isn't. I was shocked to see that the rib/chicken combo meal at Cosmic Rays was even available to me. It is like $13 where a hamburger meal is $9....big value when you are on the plan.

Yes, it will be clearly marked with the square that says ddp inside it. the DDP brochure has a number of pictures of the symbol.

There is also a snack sticky. There is a lot of info in it!

When in doubt, don't hesitate to ask! On our 1st trip with DDP, we didn't ask and missed out on so many great items. When we are ordering our CS lunches, I always ask the CM if I've remembered everything. They'll double check so you don't get back to the table and be short a drink or a dessert.

Definitely check out the snack thread referred to by the PP - you'll be amazed at what counts as a snack credit!

My favorite DDP tip - Always order large waters or soft drinks for adults! You can get a large but they will give you smaller drinks if you don't specifically order large.

Thanks to all!!! I'm so sorry! I found the sticky thread! I can't believe I looked right over and didn't see it! It looks like it's going to be much easier than I thought!!! And tons more to offer on the snacks than I thought too!!!

Not sure what resort you're staying at, but last year at pop we had some WONDERFUL desserts!! Order your meal and tell the cashier that you'd like to get your dessert later and they'll stamp your recepit. You have an hour. You could get great sundes and shakes, oh it was great. Just make sure you ask, you're not the only one who doesn't have a clue, we've all been there too! It's better to ask and find out that way you get to make the most of you credits!!

Thats to all for the great tips. Mommy 3 you answered my question before I could even ask it. I was just thinking.... I wonder if icecream is a snack or a desert and if I desert do I have to order it when I order my meal. That is great to know you have an hour!! It's like getting an extra snack. We are not big breakfast eaters, a muffin, a banana, apple, etc. so my plan was to use the snack credits for breakfast, the cs for lunch and ts for dinner. Now it's like getting a free snack after lunch!!
