A couple of years ago I took my husband to Disney (his first time) and the experience was horrible. We stayed at CB and the distance was too much for him. The parks were packed in June and it was hot. He came back never wanting to return and said that he didn't find it fun.

This past July I went back to Disney with my brother and sister. When I came home, I booked a trip for this December for me and my husband. However, I haven't told him about it yet! I even ordered our MVMCP tickets.

Any suggestions!!! He needs to know about the trip before I can buy airfare. Even if he doesn't want to go, I will still go and hang out with a friend of mine who lives in Orlando. Help!

I would really urge him to give it another try. It sounds like my husband. After his first trip in 2002 never again- it was a waste of time and money in his words.
Anyhow, I convinced him it was a bad time to go (Easter) and he should try again. It did take some sweet talking for awhile, but it worked. We went again 10 months later and he went w/ an open mind (very important). Anyhow, he really had a great time and he loved it. He's not as "addicted" as I am, but he does enjoy 1-2 WDW trips a year.

A good suggestion is possibly booking something during the trip you just know he'd really want to do. Some suggestions are the dolphin encounter, segway tour, Richard Petty ride along or driving expierence (this is a favorite of my husband), golf reservations, or even possibly Cirque. Also you could consider taking a day trip to the beach, to the Kennedy Space Center or on an airboat gator tour. If your DH likes Nascar and the Richard Petty thing is not in the picture money wise-- the Daytona Speedway is an hour drive. The tour there was very interesting and this is coming from a non-Nascar fan.

I would then present the trip as a "present" w/ a mock up of your general plans. Of course I would include a brochure or something from the thing you booked w/ his interest in heart. Possibly even the internet page printed up describing the activity.

tell him how much this trip means to you that he join you or make it your christmas gift to eachother, explain that the crowds are light the first 2 weeks of december & the weather is nice & in the 70's. hopefully he'll enjoy it this time around plan some special things he'd especially enjoy, lunch at the espn club at the boardwalk, book a tee time or fishing excursion, massages at saratoga springs or a behind the scenes tour like backstage safari or dolphins in depth. what resort did you book? the magic kingdom resorts (ie the polynesian) are great because of the monorail to magic kingdom & epcot as are the epcot resorts (ie the yacht club) for the friendship boat to epcot & mgm. the wilderness lodge is also great during the winter with its warm ambiance & fireplace.

Have you orderded the planing video? I'd wait untill you get it,and show it to him.Pointing out the awesome things to do,and then point out going in Dec.the weather is not so hot or humid, the crowds are better, and it would make a wonderful Christmas gift!!Good luck! :flower:

Tell your hubby that you bought your own Christmas present but that if he's very, very,VERY, good you are willing to share it with him. I bet it will be hard for him to begrudge you a Christmas present!
