How To Surprise Kids With Trip????

We are taking our kids on their first trip in December and plan to tell them night before. I just got us all Disney logo Ts at Disneyshopping.com (had a sale last week!). I also found a place to order Guest of Honor badges so I will get those too. We will sit them down and tell them they can each open one Christmas present early since it will be something they can use before Christmas comes. They will all open the shirts and badges and I wonder how long it will take them to put it all together! I can't wait to see their faces!

I was reading a post yesterday about a mom who bought fortune cookies and gave hints about the trip in the notes inside. She ordered Chinese take-out and when everyone was finished she handed them out and everyone read a different note. One said their lucky numbers were the date that they left, etc... I thought it was a great idea. You might want to try it... You'll just have to be careful putting the notes in the cookies with tweezers

That was my mom and dad!!! I loved the idea so much I got a tattoo to always remind me of it which you can see in my sig!

Thats a really cool idea too!!! Being surprised is a really cool way to find out you are going to WDW.

We are going next May with SIL, her son, her boyfriend and his 2 kids. None of the kids what "Orlando" is, so we are telling them that Orlando is where we are going on vacation. We just want to see how soon they can figure it out once we land and see the "Mickey" stuff around the airport. They are all under 10.

We have been planning a family trip for months, but held off telling the kids (8 & 5) until 3 weeks out so they wouldn't bug us and we wouldn't bug them (i.e. "you can't do that at WDW!")

We invited my Mom and Sis over for Breakfast (they're both going as well as out of state relatives). During breakfast I slipped out the garage and rang the doorbell than hustled back around the house. As usual the kids beat everyone to the door and found two large packages addressed to them from M. Mouse, Main Street U.S.A. They thought a delivery man had dropped them off and while my wife videotaped they tore into the package. Inside my son's (8) package was a Mickey Mouse toy holding a ticket to Disneyworld I made on my computer. Under Mickey was the "Kids Guide to WDW." Inside my daughter's was Minnie, her ticket, and a princess book. I also printed out a calendar page counting down the days, so they could keep track of how many days left.

We're leaving two weeks from tomorrow and our four kids have absolutely no idea. We're still not sure how we're going to tell them that morning, but we're leaning toward just letting them figure it out for themselves. Our oldest (9) knows that WDW is in Orlando, so as soon as he figures out where we're flying, he'll know. We'll have the video camera ready to capture all the screaming. Wow! Just two weeks; can't believe we're finally going.
