I know I read before on one of these threads so many creative ways to tell the kids for their upcoming christmas trip. We have planned all year and I am surprised I have contained the secret so well so far..lol I would like to do something fun for them when thy find out...any suggestions or even direct me to an old thread..i'd greatly appreciate it.

We surprised our kids with our upcoming trip last xmas morning. We bought some Disney dollars and included them in an envelope with a "note" from Mickey that said "See you real soon!" and signed it Mickey. The looks on their faces were priceless. Well except DS12, he didn't get it so DD4 had to tell him. :rotfl2:

I pulled one of the autograph books from another trip and practiced Mickey's signature MANY times before finally writing the notes.

What are the actual dates you are going- and when are you wanting to tell them? When we surprise our kids I let Daddy take them to eat and a movie the night before. We usually fly out on a Sunday, so Saturday is great for this. I spend all week making sure the laundry is caught up and the house is clean.

Then after they go to bed, I pack all the suitcases and hide them in the back of the suburban. I get them up early the next morning(way earlier than for church) and ask them if they would like to go somewhere different! It's hilarious watching the little wheels turning!:rotfl: My middle son figured it out 1st last time. But his older brother said he thought Disney world, but was afraid he was going to be disappointed!!! Then they can pack a back pack with books and stuff I have already bought and hid and their game boys or whatever for the plane trip.

They really like to be surprised better than knowing-the suspense just kills them. In May, my dh wanted to tell them 2 weeks early. I warned him not to, but he thinks knowing is half the fun:sad2: Silly man- Mommy knows best!!

They were all excited for about 10-15 minutes, then the oldest busted out crying cause he had to wait so long.:rotfl:

dh was shocked to say the least. so guess what? The next trip I am planning is also a SURPRISE!!!

We went in Jan. of this year. Santa brought all types of things for the trip. Light up princess pins to wear to the parades. Disney bucks to be spent in the park and at an appointment "he" made at the BBB. What great stocking stuffers and the kids loved having their own "money".

we suprised our children last year on christmas day.we were all watching the disney christmas parade on tv and we said to the kids wouldn't it be fun to be there in person and see the parade?and they said yes then we showed them our tickets and said we're going tomorrow!they were so excited the looks on their faces was priceless.
