How to store/organize embellishments?

I have the CIS PSB which I use for stickers, borders, die-cuts and some embellishments, but I am at a loss on how to store and organize the rest. I need help with my brads,eyelets, buttons, fibers and ribbon. I have some CIS mini containers for my brads and the MM containers that the eyelet sets come in but they are just laying around. How do you keep these organized? Also, how do you store your ribbon and fibers? I just have them laying on top of one of my mini 3-drawer organizers right now. Thanks so much! I know when I have everything organized I will be much more productive.

The only hint I have is I use TIC TAC containers or empty pill bottles for brads and eyelets!

I got these 2 organizers there...in organizing dept. there. They are orange about 12"x6" x6" and have 4 clear organizers w/ lids that slip in. In each clear organizer there are columns, and you can slide in pieces to create any size of slot. I have all my lg. brads, beads (in sm. baggies), glitter glue, sm. tags, buttons, metal letters & misc. ebellishments in these. Plus they have handles to tote easily. Around $10 each
I have all my eyelets/sm. brads in Close to My Heart organizers for them. Around $20 each.
I, too, have the Sterlite sm. 3 drawer containers for the larger embellishents.

The CTMH organizers have small containers like MM for brads inside of them in fitted foam so they are secure.
My fibers are in 'clear' containers from Michaels--they are a just like the "drawers' of the Home Depot containers. Plus I bought little cardboard pieces at Michaels to spool each fiber--not huge amounts on each.

A scrapper is NEVER organized We all mean well but shoot, Organized and productive, that's for professionals!

As for eylet brad storage, I bought one of those containers in the hardware section of walmart that has 20 drawers. It's supposed to be for nails & screws. Doesn't take up a lot of room.

LOL, well I was trying to make myself feel better about it. Off to Wal-Mart, Michael's and Home Depot this week. Any more suggestions? I'm making a list of things to buy and it has already grown quite a lot.

How true! How true! I have gradually taken over a whole room in our house, & there is "stuff" all over the room! Just last night a friend suggested we sit out there in that room. I laughed & commented that he hadn't been out there lately!

The best way that I have organized (for me of course)- - (and I have tried a lot of them)
I got the tic tac style boxes for eyelets and brads at Walmart LOVE IT
and then I have a drawer unit from the auto department in Walmart and it hold all kinds of other stuff - buttons, letter charms, chipboard letters, clips, tags, bottle caps, frames, corners, mesh, etc...
and I love canning jars too (for mm rub-ons and other larger stuff)

I have several clear craft boxes, they have lots of little compartments and I put all of my embellishments in there. I have one with brads, eyelets and snaps, one with charms, letters, etc., one with buttons, and a bigger one with ribbons, fibers, etc.

I went to a scrap convention last weekend and saw the neatest thing for storing embellishments. I don't know the name of it, but maybe I can find out by looking in the list of vendors for their products. Anyway, it was about 4 or 5 levels of a clear/opaque hexagonal shaped thing with a carrying handle on the top. Needless to say, these things were flying off the shelf, and I waited a bit too late to get one. Lots of folks in the crop room were using this storage system. Each level must have had about 6 - 8 compartments, and each level (box) could be snapped on or off to access whatever was in that box. These also came in square shaped boxes too, and the tops were different colors (blue, purple, red---I think that was based on the shape of the container)

I'm the worst at describing things, and I wish I had a picture for you to see (mostly I wish I had one of these thingies in my hot little hands ). I've learned my lesson about waiting too long to buy something, so next time I'll grab whatever looks like something I could really use before it's gone.

Anyway, I just use tackle box containers (8 of them came with my soft-sided tackle bag), so I"m making use of those. The system I described above was very compact, yet held lots of embellishments to keep close at hand.

They also sold another product that looked like a clear box with a handle sized to hold 12 X 12" paper. Those sold out on the first day I think. I just got so busy shopping, and visiting, and just generally roaming around that I waited till too late to buy one of these.

Don't you just HATE when that happens? Or when you finally realize you really "need" something, it's gone.

I think the item that you are talking about is something my MIL picked up at Michaels in the beading section. She gave it to my dd because it didn't "work" for her. Did it have a round top that opened up to a sectioned tray that lifts out? Colored handle? Let me see if I can get a pic uploaded.

I use the locking square/rectangle boxes (Craf T Mate?) I've found them at Michaels. I got tired of my eyelets spilling out of the MM containers. I also have Sterilite containers for fiber, ribbon, etc.

I think the box was clear, and the handle may have been blue. It was a pretty large box, and as I said before, they were selling like hotcakes. I'm just usually not an impulse shopper, and I wanted to see what else the vendors had for sale. I didn't really want to buy something just because everyone else was buying one, but I can definitely see why they bought the stacking system. Check the link I posted. It holds almost everything! Including my CM paper trimmer! It has 3 small plastic boxes that I have my fibers in. Granted I don't have a ton but it holds almost everything, Plus if I am going to a crop I just grab itand go!

Spinning, I saw several people with that tackle box at the convention I went to. It really looks like a good all-in-one storage to use for crops.

i also have a plano tackle box, but i think mine is bigger than spinnings...

i like it, but it is big...it holds alot.

these are awesome options, but i must say, i still have way more junk than space for my junk!!!

i also use the cropper hopper embellishment boxes for small stuff like brads, etc.

I have one of those tackle boxes Sweet Maxine was talking about. I also had picked up 2 different types of pill organizer/containers at Dollar Tree. One of them is just round containers that stack. The other one is a rectangular box with 4 compartments (breakfast, lunch, dinner, bedtime) for each day of the week and a rack to hold them. I picked them up in clear and just turned the day label to the back. This type actually works out the best for me as it's not too easy to spill them all over.

I bought a Plano tackle box for $20 at Wal-Mart and I love it! it came with plastic boxes to hold all kinds of stuff and I've added a bunch as well. I keep all my stuff intheir like ribbon, fiber, brads, eyelets, glitter, etc...
