Hi All,

In looking at the room specs. for CBR I can see that there are no irons or ironing boards in the room. Can anyone give me tips on how to stay wrinkle free on your vacation without using an iron?

Thanks!

Christine

We are leaving on Wednesday for our WDW trip and while shopping for things to take last night at Wal-Mart, I came upon a travel-sized spray bottle of Downy Wrinkle Release. It was in the toiletries with all the other travel-size stuff. I am a big ironing fanatic so I'm hoping this will help as I doubt we'll have an iron at Pop. You might give it a try. My aunt swears by it for her four kids -- I don't think they ever iron anything.

There are ironing boards and irons in CBR. However, "Thou shalt not iron" is the 11th commandment for me. Especially on vacation. I absolutely  Downy Wrinkle release spray.

If there isn't an iron in your room, you can call Mousekeeping and they will bring one for you.

I tend to use "the lazy woman's iron" a lot, which is to just put on the clothes and run over any wrinkled spots with a damp washcloth. They won't look "starched and pressed", but at least presentable. Just don't sit down right away while they're still damp - they only take a few minutes to dry if you're standing up and moving around.

All the resorts have irons and ironing boards in them. If by chance there isn't one, as previously stated, you can get one brought to your room.

Most of the time I will iron everything as it comes out of the suitcase and then hang it all up. If I need to do only a 'touch up' I will do it on the bed instead of hauling out the board.

Wow, thanks for all the great tips! I'm pleased to hear that I can get an iron and an ironing board but love the idea of the Wrinkle Release stuff. I'm from Canada and have never seen it here (we don't get a lot of the cool stuff you do in the States) but we are flying out of Detroit so I'll make a point of stopping at a Walmart on our way to get some. I LOVE the idea of not ironing while on vacation.

Thanks everyone!!

From an incredibly lazy college student who hates ironing... Downy Wrinkle Release! It's amazing!

Is is available in Canada. I was buying it in the US for about 1.5 years and then last year it became available here. I've seen it in Dominion, Canadian Tire and Walmart.

My usual trick is just to hang the clothes on a towel rack in the bathroom while someone is taking a shower (usually with a hanger, but sometimes with sweaters I might just stretch it out across the rack without a hanger). The steam usually does a pretty good job of getting out the wrinkles unless they are horribly bad. I may have to try the Downy stuff, sounds interesting.

I placed a layer of the plastic bag from the dry cleaners between items and it did a great job of keeping things from getting wrinkled on the trip down.

Usually at WDW it's so humid out that all I have to do is walk outside for a few minutes and the wrinkles disappear! Mother Nature's iron.....;)

We cruised with the kids last year and had alot of "dress" clothes. Several dress shirts, pants & dresses and irons are not allowed on cruise ships! I learned a great trick on cruise critic. Iron at home and pack items on the hangers in individual dry cleaner bags. We just folded everything in half & laid them in the suitcase - worked like a charm!! It also made unpacking a breeze!

I very seldom iron even at home. I love Downy Wrinkle Releaser. It's a life saver. If I can't find that, I go wrinkled. :rotfl:
