We stayed at the villas at WL last year and spent wayy too much money. We'd like to go again and stay somewhere nice, but doing so without spending a fortune!

We were thinking of going in January, which is an off time so that would save $$. Any special deals? Where will we fit?? I think we could get a suite at WL to accomodate us all??

Any large families want to share their tips? TIA

Did you rent points at the villas...that is by far the cheapest way...My friends got a 2 bdrm at BWV march 6 - March 13 7 nights for $3250 the cash rate for the room through disney was approx. $7800 they saved almost have and had a huge space...

Look into it...if you have specific questions feel free to PM me..

We stayed in a WL suite last December and I believe it was about 400 per night during value season (370 plus extra adult charge of 25). While you could fit 6 in there it will still be a tight squeeze and you will run out of closet and drawer space quickly. The space fit us b/c we had a 3 yo with us so we wanted to be able to close off the sleeping area while us adults still could talk, watch TV, etc.

I would think depending on your situation that connecting rooms at any of the deluxes could be cheaper and give you an extra bathroom. Also we were told that b/c there are so few suites at WL that they are not discounted and if so, only on a rare occasion. Hope that helps!

We stayed last Jan in WL 2 BR Villa for around 360 a night. I just kept looking for codes on mary's site and made about 3-4 changes up until Oct or Nov. It was more than enough room 4 Adults and 2 children. I keep trying to get the wife to jump on a DVC resale without any luck. She does not alway's want to go to Disney.

Are you only considering onsite lodging? What are you looking for, and what have you liked in the past? Try to decide what time you spend in the rooms, and what is worth the extra money.
We are a family of five who at first only stayed in deluxe resorts. I still love the Beach Club's pool and Contemporary's location, but I'm not always willing to pay for it during a longer stay.

We actually prefer onsite as we like to the easy access to the parks other resorts. And no we are pool hopping, lol! We actually just like to see the other resorts and eat at the restaurants at other resorts!

So yes we want onsite... We do live MK side, because we like the transportation, boat, monorail and bus.

To be honest I wasn't all that impressed w/the villas. They were ok, but we honestly didn't need all the room we had. The 2nd bathroom was nice, but I guess we could live without it. We don't really eat in so the kitchen isn't necessary (of course a small refrig is something we'd like.)

So basically what it comes down to is what are our options for accomodations for 6? I know there are suites at WL that I think accom. 6? Any other options without getting two rooms??

BTW we've done the cabins at Ft. Wilderness. They are fine, but we really kind of want to be in one of the hotels, not in our own cabin out in the woods, lol!

The jr suites at WL will accomdate 6 people. There are two queens in the bedroom, with a pull-out sofa in the sitting area. There are doors that close between these two rooms, and the bathroom is located off the bedroom and main area. These rooms are limited in numbers and are also very rarely discounted. The rack rate for Jan is $390 per night, and I wouldn't expect to pay much less. You might be able to get a AAA discount of 10% off that, but I wouldn't expect to pay MUCH less. Here is the layout of the jr suite.

Have you looked on the DVC rent boards? You can usually buy someones points for around $10.00/point- to stay at a 2 bedroom at OKW in January from Sunday- Friday would cost about $1100.00- not bad for a 2 bedroom, kitchen, 2 bathroom and living room hotel room for 5 days.... and it's a deluxe to boot. That works out to $220.00/day! You should go onto the DVC rent board and do a little research there- That's not a bad price at all!

The Dolphin has a jr. suite that sleeps 6, and you can get some good prices through Dreams Unlimited. We found the Dolphin to be very deluxe. The location to MGM/Epcot is great, but the bus service to MK is very good, too. We have two toddlers, so we were at MK several times, but liked being so close to the other parks as well.
