How to start planning early

I'm itching to start planning our stay for May 2016, but I'm finding it difficult. I can't plan ADRs until I know which days I'll be in which parks. I plan park days based on EMHs and park hours. If the park hours won't be released until 6 or 7 months out, how do you all plan early?

You wing it. I am planning a June 2016 trip. I am using the hours/EMH that Touring Plans has. It's probably from what happened this year. We do AM EMH, so I understand the dilemma. You want to hear something bad; the Star Wars a Weekends stuff, ie dates, meals, actors, packages, start being announced in early December and continue through May, for a May/June event Since that's what we will be doing, I am really having to be flexible.

Planning a year out just means knowing which fp's and TS restaurants you want to book at each park and roughly knowing the times you want. Park hours are always subject to change and EMHs are sometimes added a month or two before you arrive. You just have to be flexible and expect that things will change.
