How to spring the surprise

I'm planning atrip with my DW, and 2 DS's (age 11 and 13)for next May to the YCR. Since the YC is above our original budget we decided that thwe trip should be part of our boys' Christmas Present for this year. Any ideas on how to "wrap" this present s they really feel special and don't say "Wouldn't we be going to Disney anyway?"

Sorry..no ideas for you! But I'm interested in hearing what you come up with. Personally, I don't think a "gift" of Disney would work for children who go yearly. I'm embarrassed to admit that it's come to be a yearly expectation in my house.

Well since we did skipp a couple of years I'm hoping that they will at least drop some of the expectation. I guess what i meant is that they know we would plan a fun vacation anyway. (Last year they had a blast in Jamaica). They are Disney fanatics like us so I think they will appreciate it as a gift. I'm thinking along the lines of wrapping a planning video and guide book and really making them more of the planning process than they wee in the past when they wee younger. I guess I'm just looking for ideas from someone who did something like this in the past.

How about a gift basket with Hidden Mickey Books, the Disney Treasure Hunt books, Planning Video, Guide Books, and model boats (for the yacht club tie in)???

You don't know the half of it. I'm in a mixed marriage. DW is a Yankee fan. I'm a Met Fan. It can get ugly.

Every season the news here has to find a least one married couple with a displaced Yankee fan and a Red Sox fan. Most of them can't even watch the games together!!!
