Hi

I turned 50 this past week and the family is sending me to WDW by myself for a few days of "ME TIME". Yup all by myself......well DD21 and her friend will be there on property for 2 of the 4 days I am there and we said that we would have dinner BUT not "hang" together the whole time. This is really going to be "ME TIME" and I don't have a problem soloing it. The thought of doing what I want when I want.......hmmmmmmmmmm sounds like a piece of heaven :goodvibes

Anyway here is my query - If you were me and had about $250 "Mad Money" to do what you wanted at WDW what would you do?

A spa treatment (never had a massage in my life), Backstage Tour (DD and DH took it years ago and rave about it - I wasn't able to join them because the younger DD wasn't old enough so I stayed behind with her), a Disney collectible????? Go off property and do something. Right now I have Magical Express but it wouldn't bother me to rent a car.........not sure what to do.

HELP me spend my "Mad Money"

Have a Magical Disney Day!!

Wow, it sounds like a wonderful dilemma to have!! :flower:

My vote would be for a great spa treatment or two (don't know how much spa treatments go for). Relaxing, and totally self-indulgent. Something just for you!

Have an awesome time- I'm jealous!

I myself would go to a dinner show, like The Hoop-Dee-Doo, and then also over the The Grand F, and eat at 1900 Park Faire, and then buy myself something nice to bring home! :goodvibes

Here are the top picks from me - things I've done on solo trips that I couldn't do when my children were with me.

Number 1 by a mile - the Segway tour at Epcot. $80.00 for 2 hours - the most fun I've ever had!!!!!!

Number 2 - rent a WaterMouse for 30 or 45 minutes from one of the MK resorts. I rented from WL - drove all around the beautiful lake near Fort WIlderness, then ventured over to the area around MK. $24.00 or so for 30 minutes, I think - you should double-check all these prices since I may be remembering them wrong and it's been a year or so.

Number 3 - One or more really nice solo meals - my favorite was sitting at the chef's table at The Flying Fish on the Boardwalk - it's actually just a seat at the bar, but felt totally comfortable and talked to the chef occasionally when I wanted to see what he was doing. A great dinner, too!!

Number 4 - Shop!!!!! One time I started a collection of those carved animals from the Mexicao pavillion, but I think they got lost in a move. So the next time I'm there, I'm going to buy that book and one or more of those animals. They are pretty and different from anything else I have at home, so it will be interesting to put them in my den on an empty bookshelf. There are loads of things in Epcot especially that are fun and different, without looking too souvenir - ish. I love Disney but I don't decorate with it anywhere in my house, so I'm always on the lookout for interesting things.

I also am not much of a spa girl, and would probably do that at home if I were going to, but a facial or a mani/pedi wouldn't be a bad idea for some of your mad money.

Have a great time!!!!

if i were you, i would call my friend mac and tell friend to fly down for the day to have dinner with you..........

i would rather tell you in person how to spend that money ::yes::

Hoop-dee-doo
Tour
Collectable

It's possible to do all three with $250.

Check out La Nouba at DtD. Also, the tours are great, and to pamper yourself, a spa treatment of some sort. Enjoy, Happy Birthday. :cool1:
