I was wondering how do your kids get to sit up front? Do you ask or do they (CM) pick someone? I've always been too shy to ask in the past.
TIA!

We sit up front every trip. You just tell the CM at the head of the line and you will be asked to wait in a separate holding area. They will only allow 4 people at a time to sit up front and the last time we were there we received a card that read Official Co-pilots. My son loved the card. You may have to wait for the next monirail if someone is waiting ahead of you, but they come fairly quickly.

Have fun. It's a great view.

Thank you Sooo much! We have 3 boys, so I guess DH & I will split up so thay can all experience the ride (us too of course!)
Thanks again for the info!

I think the best monorail ride for the front cab is from the Ticket Transportation Center to EPCOT. It is a long ride and when you arrive you circle over the park before entering the station.

I agree with Spanky. It's a nice ride and you get to see some of the land held by disney.

If you choose a non-busy monorail time (off peak hours) you most likely will not even have to wait to get to ride up front. :) And don't forget to get your own co-pilot card too...after all (as a CM told one my professor when we were celebrating a conference panel that went very very well with a dinner and she wanted to order a desert off the kids menu) "Everyone is a kid at Disney" :)

Agree TTA to EPCOT is fantastic. Get in line first then ask the CM. They only take four people in the front.

And..the way I understand it works on the Resort Monorail side is that they have a designated "color" of monorail that they can board guests on for cab rides.

There are usually 2 "colors" (or 3 during busy seasons) on the Resort rail....then those colors are assigned to the 3 hotels. So if you want to board in the front from a hotel you have to wait for the right train.

If someone who works in Monorails can confirm this policy or let me know if it's been changed I would appreciate it. But this was how a CM once explained it to me when we asked.

We ride up front almost every trip. I am not aware of the color scheme that CastMemberDWA mentions; maybe we've just gotten lucky since we've gotten to ride up front from all three monorail resorts.

And the ride from Epcot to TTA is the most fun up front.

I have a whole stack of Monorail System Co-Pilot Licenses :bounce:

That is so neat. As many times as we've been there, I've always been afraid to ask, but I've always wanted to do it. We are there alot with our kids and grandkids, but also just DH and I. We did't want to take the oppurtunity away from the kids to enjoy. Maybe one of these days.

there are 10 monorails and each has a different color stripe. our driver last week told us it was for the drivers communication w/ each other. they know who is driving what color.

sitting up front in the monorail is SO much fun!!!! :Pinkbounc :bounce:

All you do is ask a cast member at a monorail station. Then they will put you in a seperate holding area. You might have to wait for a couple trains to go by. (others are in line) It is worth the wait. Only four people at a time can sit up front.

2003- offsite

2004-pop century

2005- Contemporary Resort

We were able to sit up front twice. They were non-busy times and they asked us if we'd like to. We're 2 adults.

While we were sitting upfront a group of four adults just walked in and squeezed in the available space. When the driver came back he made them leave. There's a limit to the number of people allowed. :p
