If I want a 2 bedroom for my entire trip, but can only get a few nights & the rest 1 bedroom, do I waitlist entire trip or only the additional nights needed?

You are only allowed two active waitlists per use year. So depending on how many nights you need, your only choice may be to waitlist the entire trip. Keep in mind that all the nights must be available at the same time for the waitlist to work. They will not "hold" available nights for you hoping that the rest of what you want will become available.

That said, and knowing that the shorter the waitlist, the more likely it is to work, you could book what you can now and then waitlist the gaps as best you are able. As a waitlist works, set up another to fill the remaining gaps and then repeat as often as necessary. Whether or not you choose to go that route will depend on you -i.e., How much of a gamble are you willing to take? Do you have a back up?

Good luck!

You can also set up an alert on http://www.******.com/. If you pay the small fee, it is good for a 3 month subscription and checks the RAT every hour or so for particular dates. You can get texts and emails whenever something is available. I would suggest booking the nights that you need (hopefully, these are consecutive). Then, book the other nights with the 1-bedroom that is available. Next, I would wait list the nights that are missing and say you want to swap out the "filler" 1-bedroom nights. If the "fillers" are 1 or 2 stand alone nights, then this will be more likely to fill. If you would be moving back and forth a lot, then this kind of stinks. Hopefully, the 2-bedroom nights are consecutive, and the 1-bedroom nights are consecutive. I hope this helps.
