We have a general camping but espescially FW tent camping question.
How do you secure a tent so that it is harder to break into? Are there special locks for the zippers?

Thanks ahead of time for the help

:sad2: I would never lock a car with a convertible top, a knife will go straight through it. Same goes with a tent. Camped at FW over 100 times, never had anything taken off the site. Anything you hold value to, keep locked in the car, or at the front desk. They have a place available, we have never felt the need to do so. Good Luck!!!!!

I feel the same way. I'd rather they just take the stuff than ruin my tent or pop-up getting to it. Put your valuables in the car and lock them up. Or better yet, don't take them at all. I've been camping all my life and never, ever had one experience with someone stealing from me. although I did have a raccoon eat part of my cake once...but not a disney world.

My best friend used to lock her pop up all the time which I thought was the funniest thing. Why bother locking something up in the middle when you can easily break into it from the ends? :confused3 The best part about the whole scene was her then 3 yo had escaped his older sisters watch and when we found him, he was knee deep into another campers tent because he knew they had really cool toys! :rotfl: She did manage to catch up with the other campers to tell them the boy had pillaged their tent and to make sure everything was o.k. and nothing was broken or needed to be replaced. Thankfully, the other campers laughed it off after inspecting everything and was satisfied nothing was damaged. Oh yea, we also kept our valuables locked up in our cars.

Thanks!!

I figured that was the case.....just checking!!! :cool1:

One of those things I worry about...

OK, we're one of those who lock our tent using just luggage paddle locks. You're right, anyone could easily tear into our tent with a knife, and we don't leave anything really valuable in the tent, just the camping stuff. (We haven't camped at WDW tho.)

We do it because of the old saying. "It'll keep the honest people honest."

And now I have a good reason, wouldn't want any little ones in our tent by mistake. :teeth:

:flower:

We aren't planning on taking anything really valuable except the tent to WDW and I guess if someone is desperate/needy enough for our tent and other stuff they can have it!!!

We put some valuables in the car if we were gone all day. For a run down to the pool we didn't even bother.
