How to scare off Black Birds

without actually hurting them, of course.
I have the solar cover on my inground pool while it's vacuuming and they think it's a BIG bird bath and after they are done bathing they are pooping on top of the cover, which has taken me about 1/2 hour to clean off every day for the last week.
I can't stand it, it has to be so unsanitary.
HELP!

My mom used to lay out the garden hose in the back yard and loop it around one of the lawn chairs, and the "experts" said the birds will think it's a snake and they won't go in the yard.

At their house, they used to get swarms of birds, and this really kept them away.

Go buy a plastic owl and place it in the yard.

I put the garden hose by the pool around an adirondack chair and then I put some pool toys that are called noodles 9they could pass as giant snakes on the solar cover. When I got home from work.......
NO POOP!
