When we stayed at HHI a couple of years ago, we had a wonderful experience with one of the lifeguards. We were staying over Labor Day weekend and on that Sunday they had a class to teach one of the High School Musical dances. Of course my DD (9 at the time) wanted to be a part of that. There were several other young girls at the class and they were all very excited when they were told they could perform the dance at the Labor Day bbq being held at the pool the next day.
Well, apparently a lot of these girls were starting school that Tuesday because DD was the only one at the BBQ. I was given time beforehand to call DH and let him know that he needed to bring the video camera down to the pool right away (he had planned to join us a little later). The lifeguard even waited until he was in the perfect spot to film the action. The lifeguard made sure that my DD's name was announced as a "Guest Cast Member" and she got to dance with all of the lifeguards. Then she got a "Magical Moment" certificate to commemorate her performance.
After we got home, I sent a letter to the GM of the resort, explaining what had happened and how much it meant to my DD. I'm hopeful that the letter went into the lifeguard's personnel file. I'm not sure if the GM has changed since we were last there but we're all hoping to see our favorite lifeguard if she is still there!
